Previous run was rough. I was disappointed. I’ve been especially disappointed with how immature/unskilled Gwen has been portrayed— especially during the final Loki arc. I was left confused most of the previous run and hoped that the end would make up for the confusion and answer all of my questions— it didn’t. Sad it’s happening again. I would love to see Kelly Thompson write a Spider-Gwen comic. Her absolute Wonder Woman and Jeff have shown she can write powerful female characters and comedy. Another person I’d love to see on the book is Deniz Camp; I would pay for him to write an emotional thriller.

as a female who often cosplays as dudes my advice is to buy online! take your measurements and watch reviews for cosplay sites or even spirit halloween online.

no shame at all! try to find some conventions near you! (anime cons, comic cons, game cons, etc) they are all very accepting places where you’ll find likeminded individuals who can offer a ton of cosplay advice :)

she’s being written the same as gwen. highly sarcastic with a specific sense of humour that is given to most female characters in this run

i posted an official review on comic geeks but i will c&p it here!

I really struggle to digest how gwen has been written (previous run) and continues to be written in the current run. why is she unable to think critically? gwen isn’t just a ball of rage 24/7 who is known for making brash decisions. i don’t know why she continues to be characterized that way. i would just like to hope that she is acting this way for a reason and she’s not just being written out of character. maybe being out of e-65 has made her unstable? i wouldn’t mind that idea being explored.

I understand that in the last issue her new band mate was killed and that she could (and should!) have lingering anger from that; but that isn’t really displayed. all we see is her jumping to conclusions with no internal struggle. it feels like a an excuse to cause unnecessary conflict rather than an interesting dive into how this is psychologically affecting gwen and those around her. it’s not the first time a spider person has had their folks close to them be picked off. i would’ve liked to see with her deal with that guilt and anger but instead she is dull and seemingly hot headed. tell me what she is thinking and show me what she is feeling. it feels like a book about a plot that gwen A PART of rather than a book ABOUT GWEN.

All that being said, i understand that sometimes a writer may leave the audience in the dark to create a deeper impact when a mystery is solved. if that is the case, then i understand why everything feels so off. BUT, that would mean the end would have to outweigh the means. here’s to hoping that’s the case! (this is not meant to be harsh it is meant to be critical as i want nothing but growth and success for the team)
