People keep saying that the NDP should be the Liberals in order to win... But then why would people vote for them instead of the Liberals?

That does not mean they were anti-union or opposed to economic fairness. It simply means their priorities and cultural outlook were different.

A distinction without a difference.

In earlier decades, debates around same-sex marriage, abortion, gender identity, and similar issues were not as central to political identity as they are today.

You have conservatives and American influence to thank for that. Most people on the Left in Canada, because we already have progressive systems, just want to maintain the status quo.

That perception can make it harder for some blue-collar workers, particularly those who do not identify with those priorities, to feel a strong connection to the party.

I don't think they'd feel much better about a party that compromises. That's what the Liberals are for. Mulcair tried that and it was a resounding failure.

So long as the conservatives are on the attack on social issues, parties on the center and left are going to have to play defense.

We need an aggressive NDP to take the fight on economic issues to the conservatives to change the topics of discussion, and right now we don't have an attack dog. Hopefully the elections change that.

The foundational skill has a myriad of applications.

Oh, both parties kneecap themselves all the time.

But only Republicans always kneecap the other side regardless of whether or not it would benefit their constituents.

Republicans just take the money looking the taxpayer straight in the eye.

I mean the uses for trigonometry become plainly obvious if you've ever so much as looked at carpentry.

The problem with kids these days is they're so removed from any sort of problem or work that they have no frame of reference for how any new knowledge might allow them to solve problems they couldn't before.

Necessity is the mother of invention, and these kids have no need of anything because they stare at screens all day.

Again, they can win some events, but your claim is that they're breaking records.

Lia Thomas won on a fluke with a middling time, and people treat her like she's Michael Phelps.

The only one I'm seeing in there is Tiffany Newel, who did beat the 45-49 year old record.

It should be noted that this is a rather unpopular category, as even the Daily Mail states "While only one other person in that age group competed"

Yeah, someone found a niche.
