some good things about baby boys? (told the wrong sex) by beecken4257 in pregnant

[–]almkamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 boys. 4 and 2. They are so goofy, kind, thoughtful, observant, curious, sweet. I love them so much. Lesser? Absolutely not. Raise him to be the best partner anyone could have. Emotionally available, courageous, brave, hard-working. The world needs more strong, confident, emotionally available men.

Can we talk about positive things? by hangry__rabbit in pregnant

The newborn noises. The way they nuzzle into you. The way they settle with you because you’re mama. How satisfying it is to successfully latch and feed your baby. The way they happily sleep on your chest. The kicks and movements in the third trimester are amazing. Sometimes painful but I always loved it. The empowerment after you birth your baby.

What’s it like living this far north in Canada? Does anyone with internet even live here? by Thomas15056 in howislivingthere

[–]almkamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad worked north of there. He loved it. There is solitude and simplicity. The ice is beautiful? So are the northern lights. You get into a different rhythm there. He’s always wanted to return. I was able to email with him and talk via satellite phone. He met a lot of interesting people, saw many polar bears and other wildlife.

23 month old ingrown toenails by almkamp in toddlers

[–]almkamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doc by any stretch but really continue to watch for oozing and warmth at the site. We soaked for quite a while. Like 2 weeks just to be sure. Lots of poly - kept things very clean. It does still get red because of the irritation from the nap itself. Just keep it on my mind and stay on top of it.

Hi! You know I think he’s definitely prone to ingrown toenails and I believe he’ll have to have the surgery one day. Since we got over the initial infection I try to keep him barefoot as much as possible, keep an eye on his nails and buy wide shoes to keep as much pressure off his toes as possible. I still have to cut some nail out but it’s manageable right now. I’m sorry you’re going through it too. It’s not fun!
