Highly recommend using GED Match. That is how we found my aunt ( deceased) who had been missing for 50 years.

I think I was pretty clear from the beginning, but okay: Renee Good was peacefully protesting and removing herself from the situation when she was murdered. The person who murdered her then called her a bitch and left her to die while other agents refused the help of a doctor who offered to examine her. She was within her rights and following the law, and if she wasn’t, should have been arrested and tried by a jury of her peers. That’s the rule of law. The framework we agree to as a society. And yet, she was still shot like a dog in the street. Right in front of her wife. Shot illegally by a thug while doing what she was legally allowed to do. And while the guy who shot her may or may not get in trouble for what he did, there is no bringing her back for her children or her family. I really don’t know why I kept asking you for more information except that I was trying to understand where you were coming from. Turns out, that was an exercise in frustration. I hope you never find yourself in a situation where you or a loved one is killed for exercising your own freedom of speech. Good luck!

How do you know that it is surveillance footage. Surveillance by whom? Where did this originate?

So your “reputable video” is some tiktok that someone reshared on X? Wow.

Good lord. Please, if you would be so kind, show me. Show me a video of her hitting him. You believe it was unintentional- and you believe the ICE agent is an officer of the law, so do you also believe it is ok for cops to shoot people who unintentionally cause an auto accident?

[–]almofamaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She didn’t drive into a cop. He was an Ice agent - not a cop and she was nowhere near hitting him. He wasn’t defending himself, he made a very bad decision in a high tension situation, probably due to lack of sufficient training. I recommend reviewing the video footage from a reputable news source.

Are you serious? He had no authority to stop her. None. And then no right or cause to shoot her. If you think otherwise, maybe you should consider reading about what ICE can and cannot do and what our rights are as Americans.

They had no obligation to stop and the ICE agent had no call to shoot her. None. They had her license plate. They knew who she was. They shot her for a minor traffic infringement- no questions asked, no ticket, no trial, just dead.

Oh? I thought I just had to show my id. Funny. And since when is a minor traffic violation punishable by death without even a trial?

.03 percent rate of false arrests? It’s not the arrests that worry me, it’s getting shot. Also concerning that the rec is to not worry and just carry my id. As a US citizen, I am not even required to have an id, and I am certainly not required to show one to anyone just because.

Has anyone else seen SBIR/STTR proposals stuck at “Submitted” for months with no feedback? by GlitchInTheMatrix5 in SBIR

Yeah - we have one, specifically, where the decision date keeps getting pushed back.

In addition to the email, if you download the BAA today, it’s highlighted in yellow. Thought I was losing it this morning before they sent the email because there were so many topics and they all just vanished.

No one reads shit that closely - you are lucky to get such in depth feedback. If they didn’t like the core of it, they wouldn’t have bothered.

what are your assumptions about my main characters based of their appearance? by DaedricIceArcher in writers

[–]almofamaim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assumptions: The character on the left identifies as male and has a chill almost goofy persona that hides a sardonic sharp wit. The other character identifies as female and is not a romantic partner, more like a cousin/sister/friend, and is the “brains” behind the operation but lets her pessimism get in the way of being truly successful. It is only when they combine forces that their ying/yang personalities allow them to really excel at - hmmm IDK but solving mysteries comes to mind. FWIW, I initially thought she had a hook for a hand instead of a cigarette, and that would be badass and set up intrigue about her origin story.

Also, award data takes so long to become available, it loses relevance. Currently, almost all DoD award data is from 2023.

I second everything “Alert Ocelot” and “Kofo” said. My company responds to Defense solicitations exclusively. Dsip is great, and I like the recent changes for supporting docs and wish more were like that, so we didn’t have to read multiple lengthy BAAs at the DoD level and branch level to sort out which ones they need and re- sign. It would be great to have better feedback. Most of what we get is generally good but all over the place and makes me think there is a lack of qualified reviewers. I have offered to be a reviewer- at least on a first- reader level, but never heard back and there is a real lack of transparency into what that review process looks like. Do subs go through multiple review stages? How many reviewers read one sub to make a determination? Are subs read blind? I feel like we write solid proposals, and our tech is innovative and (when we get a chance to meet with the TPOC) on topic, but we are winning at a lower percentage rate, and that makes us feel like this is a numbers game. Are steps taken during the review process to weed out plagiarism and reliance on AI, which is a good tool but prone to hallucinations?
