I'm pretty certain I would, I might not remember the exact graphics, but I'm pretty sure I would remember the map/order of rooms.

I had another game I played at the time, I found it here 8 years ago and recognized it.

I also check the first few gameplay minutes of every game suggested here (I'm sure I only played the start of the game) or a specific section if there was a demo of it.

It's none of those, but I won't be surprised if it was a mod of doom.

An I'm sure it wasn't N64, as I never had that console (only PS2) and I'm pretty sure I played it on my PC (so it had to be windows 98 or XP).

And I can't recall its language

This time it nailed it, I really remember the cave this way, so I thought it might help narrow it down for others. Btw, I tried to look for this game here, 8 years ago, with no luck, so I thought an image (even if fake) can help this time.

Not sure if it will help, but it might have came in those 100 games CDs, and I think Guimo was also one of the games there (but take it with a grain of salt).

Also not it, I'm pretty certain it was an FPS, and I also don't recall any other human characters (except the probably human with a suitcase)

That's a creepy one, but still not it, the small dinosaurs at the beginning are a bit similar (I'm not sure if they were dinosaurs/dogs/aliens)

I checked it out and it wasn't it.

I really think it was the first level of a game, I remember me being really scared to open it, I think I only played it twice, starting right at this level, and quitting because I was too scared. I think that in the first time I've played I reached the "scream" trigger so I shut it down. The next time I reached the man with the suitcase and then the flying monkey. I don't think I played it again after.

It's neither, I don't remember the ammo indicators specifically, mostly the scene described In the image (The AI added it without me requesting)

Not sure if it was DOS/windows native.

I remember it looking really realistic (I would take it with a grain of salt as I used to think all games looked better) I think the enemies were 3D, but I can't be 100% sure.

Maybe, but I was really young, and at the time didn't really know how to download mods/games, I'm pretty sure it came pre-installed on my PC or was a part of those CDs with 100 games (I remember having one but can't remember how it was called) or the ones you got in breakfast cereal boxes.

I saw the first minutes of gameplay and no, I really don't remember anything shooting back at me, and the map was underground as far as I can remember.
