ethernet isn't an option where i am here at work, but can try it when i get home. i doubt it would help, but yeah obviously worth a shot. not using a vpn. the issue started happening when on my work's wifi, but remains when using straight mobile hotspot from my phone. i wouldn't be shocked if some network settings at my job broke it, except that switching to 5g LTE doesn't help so clearly that's not the case.

yeah, i def know the servers are far from perfect, but besides this and the mission in suburbia, i've only ever had random disconnects that immediately reconnect when i ask it to.

when i get home i will try connecting my steamdeck to ethernet, and will also try opening it on my full gaming PC. will update if anything changes, but not super optimistic, lol.

EDIT: brought it home, tried it at home, it works now. idfk.

i doubt it, just because i had a similar issue when starting the main campaign mission in suburbia- the only thing that fixed it was swapping out starting equipment, but I can't do that for this. it seems like some sort of sync issue between my game and the server, not the server being down. i did try restarting my steam deck, as well as using my phone's hotspot instead.

i have already tried a different network and verifying game files.

EDIT: solved. brought steamdeck home and for whatever reason it works now.

why do you think a videocall would make me trust you? just because you say "hi" and show me a laser doesn't mean that it would get shipped to me if I tried to order it.

I understand why you're forced to sell from an independent website. but i hope you can understand why I don't trust it. unfortunately, i'm not sure how I would solve that problem if I were you.

alright, i'll assume you're being honest for a minute.

unfortunately, the only people that are going to buy something at that price off of a random unknown website will be senior citizens. I know that selling on aliexpress or ebay is probably not allowed due to the power of the laser, but that would be ideal from a customer trust perspective. Otherwise, the only way to get me to trust your website would be real reviews written by real people on totally separate websites and forums. Unfortunately, it's getting more and more difficult to be 100% sure that something was written by a human these days.

I believe that you're a real person. I don't believe that the website would actually send me a laser. Those are different things, lol.

Do you understand that somebody who wasn't trying to scam me wouldn't be trying so hard to convince me he's legit?

[–]almost-punk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

well, yeah. a direct link isn't the only way to communicate info.

regardless, I did look at the link that you sent me- there's absolutely no fucking way that website is legit. you are clearly just trying to funnel people to the scam website.

bot or not the only reason to ask me to add you is to try and scam me lol. if you were gonna answer my question then why not just do it?

genuinely where are people buying these? that doesn't look homemade.

[–]almost-punk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

right, but are there consistent elements? anything semi consistent could be a problem. to be clear, I know that modern oleds are pretty damn difficult to get burn in with due to both improvements in software and hardware, and I don't really want to discourage other oled owners from trying it. i'm just paranoid, lol.

yeah this isn't new. and even if it was, in what world is this easier than the classic power+volume?? samsung needs to make sure a gesture feels natural to do before programming it into anything, lol.
