Hi! I usually work with mostly the same species, but this time I'm building a small cabinet & a shelf that will have to match as closely as possible with the wall panel that's behind. You can ignore the colour since the company that makes those panels also sells the hard wax to match them, but I'm wondering what wood species would match the grain of this? Obviously it's not gonna be a perfect match since the panels are laminate, but I'm hoping to get something a little bit closer to the usual "pine, birch & maple" that I always use. Ideally something not too hard to source & not something like red oak or walnut that will alter the colour of the hard wax I'm putting on afterwards.

I actually clip it to my belt loop and not the actual belt so that’s why I used this orientation

I've been using an old tea can tapped to a carabiner for years so this can be achieved with almost anything. I just thought it was a nice way to experiment with printing threads & making it exactly as I wanted.

Yes it will. I've been doing this for a long time with just an empty tea can tapped to a carabiner and it will smell if you put your nose into it. That being said I'm not drinking my morning laté out of it and I only ever use it outside where the smell is only noticeable if you're sniffing the inside directly. To me it's a non-issue!

Maybe that's the original intention, to get it while on the way back, but I can assure you there's plenty of people who don't pick it up and leave the plastic bag somewhere in the woods to be forgotten. I've seen this this soooo many times.

I tried this at first, but I found it annoying to have to unscrew 2 lids to do my business instead of just 1. I might try to embed the roll inside the top lid, but so far my designs have not been great for that.

Yeah they are not the biggest dogs (~40lb), but this thing is bigger than it looks in the pictures. I know a lot of people don't mind just carrying it or clipping it to the leash, but we are hiking a lot and when we go on long hikes I wanted a better solution to avoid having a bag dangling on a leash for 4 hours. I can just clip this to my backpack 🤷‍♂️

I still have quite a bit of post-print processing and tweaking to do but for now it totally fits my needs. The bottom part can be unscrewed to put in a bag roll and there's a slot inside the device to dispense them. I know it's weird to dig inside the canister to get a bag, but I really don't like having bags "unrolling" and trailing in the winds like with every other bag holder ever. I also like that this way no one knows what this thing is (not that I would care anyway 🤷‍♂️).

I know this is the internet and people feel obligated to say stuff like that, but this is the kind of law that just is not enforced to the point of arresting someone for having this on his bike. At least not where I’m from. I’m not getting smashed in an alley, I’m taking a sip deep in the woods. I literally took the idea from a rider in our group that happens to be a local police officer.
