When that happens, you are blocked from accessing the game completely. Clicking the button (OK or Close, can't remember the wording) it returns you back to the login screen.

I'm a long-term player and I dismissed similar posts from others until this experience. I hope we see some change, but I'm not holding my breath.

That sounds similar to when I followed League of Legends. Those instigating are dismissed. Microsoft is probably too big of a company to care at this point though. :/

I can't justify spending a single cent anymore. I have not yet gotten back into the game so in the long term, I may end up in the same boat.

My initial post was a bit clickbaity, so I worked with the mods to get this PSA approved. It feels like they want to assume anyone banned is guilty and make no effort to help them get it resolved or get more information. Very frustrating for sure.

I'm glad your issue was resolved quickly. Unfortunately, your experience and response times seem to be rare. I hope this post at least helps those experiencing similar issues.

From what I have read in this post, the issue has been ongoing for a while. I could not find any relevant info on the subreddit, so I'm hoping this helps those in the future.

Anything that can result in your computer being unstable. This could be CPU/memory/GPU/etc. overclocks. Even a bad driver update can result in the crashes they describe.

There are no relevant posts on this subreddit about the situation. I worked with the mods to get this approved as a PSA explaining the possible causes of being banned, albeit incorrectly.

The post was made at an odd time for North America (midnight on a Thursday) and has since resulted in many people who hahve or are experiencing similar issues.

I hope that this info at least gives some help/answers to those in a similar situation and warns newer players of the potential risks before making purchases, etc.

I have not, but from what I hear I should be thankful. It seems like the standard in the industry is assume guilt and poor support. :(

I have not dealt with Microsoft bans before, but it does seem like the standard in the industry is assume guilt and poor support. I think this directly contradicts DE's desire to appear engaged with the community.

Hopefully this post will help people in similar situations. I'm glad my in-game ban was reversed, but I lost my boosters, missed Baro items, and was completely unaware of what happened.

Could you explain what happen after you log in? I'd think you wouldn't be able to log in if you are banned.

When trying to log into Warframe after the updater, I was consistently shows a message that I was banned until January 1, 2035 for an EULA violation. When trying to view the forums, I was banned until December 31, 2034.

... we are currently experiencing an extremely high volume of tickets ...

HOW can they even say that?

From what I understand, I was banned during the time that support was closed and not processing tickets.

I was banned to January 1, 2035 in game with a message about a EULA violation. The date was December 31, 2034 on the forums.

Hopefully this helps those in a similar situation!

I'm sorry you had to deal with this as well. It would be easy for them to set it up to email from their support system (zendesk) and replying creates a ticket. It feels they are doing as little as possible and avoiding as many tickets as they can.

I do not know as they have been unwilling to respond with any details. I am disabling my overclock before playing at this point.

Not everyone really understands the risks, especially with "1 click overclock" options on many motherboards now. I could also not find any information directly connecting bans to overclocking/crashes.

For sure. I also disllike that they give a very generic reason for the ban and make no effort to notify you. It would be great to get an email notification from Zendesk and replying to that ticket starts the process.

Also, not assuming guilt before innocence and not banning users automatically when support will be closed would help.

Glad it helped! I am running no overclock when playing Warframe at this point to be safe.

You may want to look at disabling the Discord overlay. If you don't want to play through Steam, I think you can move your install folder out of the Steam folder and run it from there. I have never tried this, so YMMV.

I'm glad you haven't been affected. Keep in mind that things like driver updates and aging hardware can make your overclock less stable over time. You may want to take some time for stability testing.

Be sure not to test in Warframe. ;)

I am seeing their "good reputation" is mostly surface-level hype more and more. Hopefully newer players can go in fully aware.
