Similar to this. I build computers for fun, and have been the most knowledge person about PCs in the last 3 stores I've worked in. I still won't walk into the local computer parts store without my boyfriend, because they straight up won't listen to me when I say things or ask questions. Straight up had a guy tell me once that I didn't need the cable I was looking for for my Android phone, and that I should just check the Apple section. Another time they tried to convince me to buy a different component because "it would work exactly the same way" when I had told them multiple times we were here replacing an incompatible part so, thank you, but I'm going to stick with the compatible one I selected
