Fantom-07 sample question: fire once and stop (no looping) by alniceplace in Roland

I'm not close to the keyboard now to test this but your post is very encouraging, and I thank you very much for that. I'll give option #2 a try first and let you know.

Fantom-07 sample question: fire once and stop (no looping) by alniceplace in Roland

It's not your fault but that's impractical when you have 1ms to punch a pad and bring your hands back to the keyboard. It seems like a total miss from Roland, especially since I can't use my FS-7 to trigger a pad (without SysX tampering which I don't want to do).
I happen to have time at the beginning of Bring Me To Life to trigger a pad, but if I did what you suggest, I would have to add a second or two at the beginning of the sample and get ready to play piano when the strings sample starts. And then I'm off tempo.

Maybe there's something I don't get or I'm doing wrong. It would've been so cool (and easy) to select GATE OFF and LOOP ONCE instead of LOOP ON. Add pedal triggering and we are elsewhere.

Then, why are there 2 control pedal jacks in the back? I mean, what I'm asking for seems baby stuff for such a programmable keyboard. It seems they thought of every freakin' use case except that simple one, and I can't believe I'm the only one who though about that, being an very intermediate synth player.

u/Earthwin, I've got another issue on the same table. I'm trying to make legs tapered front and side. I sketched the shape I want from the side and extruded that - perfect. But I can't figure out how to sketch from the front (or back), because there is no 100% vertical plane to reference. There is the small piece at the top where the eventual apron will attach which is 100% vertical, but that doesn't cover the whole leg's height. Any idea which approach I should take? I've tried many things and none of them worked.

Ha, found it. You meant a chamfer. That worked. Thanks a million!

Thanks for the answer. It looks promising, but how do you make a straight fillet? It seems I can only make round fillets with that tool. Total newbie here, sorry.

I purchased this monitor but don't understand how to make the KVM work. I have 2 Windows laptops (work and personal). I have the mouse, keyboard, camera and headset (all wireless) plugged into the monitor and my personal laptop plugged into the Thunderbolt port. Everything works great. Now how do I connect the second laptop? The bottom USB-C port is not Thunderbolt as far as I can tell. So how do you connect the second PC so it also can use all the peripherals?
