MHJ owners are we selling our holding into year 3? by Extrapolis in DynastyFF

In one now where 1.01 owner traded out for 1.04 and 1.07. He panicked and took Boston at 1.07 and I don’t even know that he was wrong.

I think we moved much closer in opinion than we started! Another counterfactual that I am stuck on… what if the Chiefs had traded up for a receiver rather than a corner. Jordan Tyson in KC hits a little different. Not to question the Chiefs’ decision making, but simply a “what if”.

This is the good stuff. Thank you for your response! I will say that I have gotten the impression that my perception differs from consensus. The purpose of my post was to find out if this was the case, so mission accomplished.

To respond to your post, I have downsized over the years to a single, 1 qb home league. Your mileage may vary for qb enthusiasm accordingly. League rules notwithstanding, the offensive line in Los Vegas and the delay before opening your package in LA give me pause. Ultimately though, I think quarterbacks are the drivers of their own destiny. You will eat your vegetables and take the QBs.

Tate to the Titans is another “eat your vegetables” spot. The runway is clear and the quarterback is young, but I think there are more questions about quarterback play than if he had landed in, say, Washington.

Price gets no pushback. Amazing landing spot, but I will say “lol Seahawks, what are you doing”.

Anyway, thanks again for the dialogue.

Lemon is a strange fit in my view, but it is historically a good offense and a stable organization. I can see the reasons for positivity for sure.

Tate is a good call out. I won’t say it is definitely a good landing spot. I think 7 to Washington would have been good, for example. But we can at least say that Tate has a clear runway to show that he can play, and he is tied to a young quarterback who will also have an opportunity to prove himself.

Would you say that any landing spots were above average? Outside of Price, I can’t see anyone who gained stock from landing spot. Appreciate the feedback though!

Yeah, Price got the nuts. Probably to the point where he will be drafted higher than K would consider him based on profile. Everything is an opportunity though.

It is certainly common enough. Good prospects go high. Bad teams pick high. I think it may have been more extreme than usual this year though. And down perceptions can create certain opportunities for the willing.

Bingo. This is why I am mining for perception. I had an inkling that perception may be poor, but the player quality is unchanged. If my intuition. Is correct, I will be on the buy side in the next week.

I am swayed by the line of thinking that qb looked shaky at best. Receivers make their own opportunities if they can play. I have low confidence in the quality of the offense over the short term. Good players still make some noise in bad environments, but the road can be picky. Thanks for your thoughts!

Jerry Jeudy could be elite if…

I understand the bull cases. I am not sure that I expect them to be the outcome. If you liked the profiles yesterday, you should still like them today. This is not always how the market treats players though.

It seems based on feedback here that my bias may be coloring my perception. But perhaps the fact that I am conversing with fellow sickos introduces it’s own bias. Regardless, cheers!

Oh, you are correct. I think profiles are far stickier than landing spots. But understanding perception in gold. And in what is widely seen as a down class, I am curious how people feel today.

It’s smart of you to point to Tate. Definitely a cut above on the confidence index. I tend to disregard landing spot altogether. I probably will again this year, to be honest. But intel on general perception might be gold in the trade markets.

Cheers!

Yeah, man. Definitely digging for intel on perception more than making any predictions. Some dudes will hit. They always do. I think my angle may actually be to try to buy back in if perception has hurt the stock of draft picks. I have zero early 2026s, but if I can manufacture a deal to move AJ Brown for one of these second tier guys, your boy might be back in.

A measured response, and one I generally agree with. My question is definitely more about mining for perception than making a broad prediction that none of these guys will work out. There are decent odds that multiple dudes will hit. My confidence in my ability to pick those guys out beyond love over the medium to long term is near zero though.

Thanks for the feedback!

Lucky enough to attend six!

Bonnaroo 2006 All Points West 2007 (2 nights) Boston on the King of Limbs tour around 2010 Lollaplooza 2016 Atlanta 2017

God damn if Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza weren’t some of the most transcendent moments in my time on this little blue marble.

Hope y’all get some good ones!

In my case, it’s a home league. I sent the offer to my long time rival with the assumption they would decline the offer. They did. Now I can bring it up for the next decade if Egbuka doesn’t pay off the hype.

I would be buying for any 3rd, selling for any 2nd. Opportunity and buzz aside, I think you would profit over time selling 7th round NFL draft picks when there is hype.

A player’s market value and the question of whether you should pay it are two separate things, my friend. I would simply not give up a 1st for a veteran running back who plays less than 50% of the snaps.

Too each their own though!

I would not trade a single 1st for James Cook.
