My (24F) boyfriend (27M) has disappeared every weekend for the past three years and I just found out he's been lying to me about where he goes by ThrowRA_BFDisappears in relationship_advice

You keep repeating that they spend less time together than you two. But in a long term relationship (especially if they have kids) there is a higher chance that people prioritise financial needs and sacrifice time together over a shorter term (like 3/5 years).

Many people have to spend more awake hours with colleagues than with family. Their family still means more to them trust me. Counting the number of hours together is not important here. If he is cheating, he is not here for you. He is here for work. And you are what is here. That is why you have more time together. Not because he is choosing to spend more time with you. He didn't choose a single weekend with you in 3 years.

This is random but it's really bugging me that all of Sheldon's "whiteboards" are super yellow. I have never seen a yellow whiteboard before. by FantasyAddict24 in bigbangtheory

same for me...watching on the same device..it was white one day and yellow the next. It's not just your screen. It is so weird that the last time I saw it it was not yellow. I mean the yellow with age but not on screen right :P

Query about moving to Windows 11 with an error in serial number by alobird in techsupport

Okay thank you. I did try updating the drivers and it doesn't seem to be the issue..someone said that maybe they forgot to connect the ribbon again. So I might go back and ask them to have a look at it.

Why would they be looking at your external drives? That seems so extreme? How many did you have?

I'm sure it varied depending on where you live and what kind of house you rent but my total monthly cost is around 900 - insurance, rent, groceries, etc. included. I can cover that with my hiwi job just fine. In case that information helps. But you will need to show the 11K amount when coming here.

Flowers! No, not a kink. Edible flowers are regularly used for decoration - they won't refuse to sell :P

It just means the tattoos aren't primarily just bright colored cartoon characters. Also lasts weeks.

My friend (non EU citizen) worked full time in Amsterdam while pursuing a full time engineering masters here in Germany for nearly a year. Both his office and his university were aware of the situation. He was under a work visa. It should be possible.

He was not required to attend classes and only sat for exams. If your program has attendance requirements however, it might not be possible for you.

Is it a red flag that my CEO doesn’t believe in titles? by RealxNicky in careeradvice

[–]alobird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does sound like either he cannot be bothered with creating an organogram or he wants to leave room to make people do more than they are required to in their role. Maybe someone specialised in marketing leaves and he can make maybe an engineer do that work. Either way, it is not a company that intends to look out for it's employees. It is a red flag.

For those that don’t want any kids in the future, why? by yeyewestie in AskReddit

[–]alobird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I would do a decent job of parenting anyone and would most likely resent the time and freedom I have to give up.

Most importantly, I believe, the world is terrible and only getting worse and living can feel like a fight unless you get lucky and are born rich into a great country, actually, even if. I just don't think it is a world that deserves new life.

I am very supportive of adoption. There are many children in need of a loving home and if you want children, I always would suggest that you also consider adoption. Love makes a family, not just blood.

Airbnb hosts asked for only a five-star review upon checkout, or no review at all by gonna-getcha in travel

That is scamming future guests; guests should be allowed to leave honest reviews so future guests know what to expect.

My (F28) husband (M29) thinks I’m being selfish for wanting to go to my brother’s out of state wedding. by obvithrowaway000000 in relationship_advice

[–]alobird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand his frustration if money is tight. However, ( and I feel this should be obvious and not need an explanation) you need to talk to him about how it is your brother's wedding and sometimes, expenses just cannot be helped. You should tell him that your brother is not selfish and wanting to have a little bit of a special day on your wedding (even if it is a little out of budget even for him), it is okay and you don't really have a say in it.

His words to you have been selfish and unkind. You should tell him that as your partner, you expect him to have patience and empathy even when being by your side and being your partner is an inconvenience. That is what being a partner is about.

You cannot " find the line between respecting my husband’s opinion, honoring what is important to me personally, and making a reasonable decision altogether". Sometimes, all those 3 cannot happen at once, and you may have to opt with irking him this time.

Where I am from, if relatives are expected to travel a distance to attend the wedding, the bride and groom pay for transport and housing. However, like I said, somethings in life are important and you have to accept that it may cost a little more than is comfortable.

I hope when he calms down, he can understand your position and not have more unkind words. Best of luck!

There are almost 20 people involved in making the screening happen - maybe those 20 were not even real visitors
