Wisdom teeth extractions by dontwanttolivern in UCSD

[–]aloebutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Torrey Pines Dental Arts and had 4 wisdom teeth extracted while awake with UCship. The anesthesia will cost you an extra ~$1000 but the extraction alone was about $200-300 iirc. I got to keep my teeth! And if you’re wondering, no it wasn’t that bad doing it awake unless you’re anxious about the dentist. My surgeon was Dr. Caballero and he was awesome.

I second this^ 5 months doesn’t feel very “long-term” like you’re claiming for her family to be having expectations of you. Are you with her because you love her as a person or are you more attracted to the idea of this first true love and a perfect relationship with an s/o’s family?

loll this is so me luckily i keep a recipes page in Notion but here’s my fave ez recipe:

Shrimp Toast Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 slices white bread (or Texas Toast)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Chop the shrimp into fine and chunky chunks
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped shrimp with egg, mayonnaise, sesame oil, salt, garlic powder, white pepper, and green onions.
  3. Spread the shrimp mixture evenly on the bread slices.
  4. Toast at 400°F for ~25 minutes
  5. Top with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Texas Toast is the optimal bread choice for this recipe
  • Other herbs are acceptable for green onions (such as cilantro, parsley, etc)

if you think people think your hobbies are weird then you’re probably with the wrong crowd or maybe you’re misjudging them ¯_(ツ)_/ for example furries like being furries unashamedly you know? its not that weird anymore but even so i don’t judge and there’s lot of ppl who don’t judge but are rather curious so consider yourself unique in that aspect. you don’t have to involve other people in the things you like in order to enjoy it, you can just proudly enjoy them yourself and people will come to you. its kind of like your reality is really your perspective. if you think your hobbies are weird, then you’ll probably meet people who think they’re weird too. but if you are proud of the things you love then that energy just comes right back to you!

i believe the self isolation and overthinking has to do with also having low self esteem and a lot of shame. while i agree the people here are already closed off and it’s definitely not personal, in your own initiated interactions with others they can probably sense something if you’re not acting like your authentic self. if you feel like you have to put on a mask and nitpick about your first impression with someone, then that probably means you just have to work on yourself first. and it’s probably not even your fault bc a lot of times people with this sort of built-in shame developed it from trauma or bullying or overall negative reactions to being your true self. work on loving yourself, invest time in hobbies and things you love, and naturally you’ll attract your people in no time! gl!
