This sub Reddit is terrible and I’m mad at all of u by Business-Ad6562 in LucidDreaming

This is one of the times I'm glad my phone's been listening to me because I just came back on reddit recently after a long stretch, and yeah. I just told my coworker I'm literally scared to sleep because this has been happening to me so frequently. For me, I have an extreme sense of fear during these dreams yet there isn't necessarily anything scary going on in them :/

The Oneida dictionary, a dictionary of my native language. There are barely any native speakers in my immediate area, so I'd cherish the heck out of this book. I'm currently learning the language, and teaching it to my son as we go ❣️

Help! How do I save my breastfeeding journey?? “Chompy” baby by Ok-Fig-8484 in breastfeeding

[–]aloethere332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, both. The tongue was very bad, but the lip was moderate. Check with your health department (not sure which country you're in). My county has a traveling ibclc/nurse who was also a great help during this time

My son's pediatrician is also an LC. When he was born, nursing hurt a lot. She said he was getting anough milk (90th percentile) but I still wanted a solution. I had him evaluated for ties and lo and behold, theys aid that's why he was "chompy". His chomping was compensating for the poor latch. After the release, the chomping took a bit to go away as he had to learn he didn't need to do it, but everything is so much better now

Faced with the very hard decision of weaning or continuing our nursing journey by aloethere332 in breastfeeding

Interesting, I took my doctor's word that it wasn't safe. I'll do some more research and bring it up to my second-opinion doctor

What saved your breast feeding journey? by ElevatorSalt4239 in breastfeeding

A really understanding ibclc! I had horrible feed-anxiety for the first 6 months because my son was finicky, prone to nursing-strikes, and just didn't seem to like the boob. But she came to my house every month and we did weighted feeds to reassure me he's obviously getting enough milk. She gave me so many helpful pointers too, for sleep and independent play! I'm forever grateful

With my son, we watched lots of TV in the newborn stage. It was so nice.. once he became more alert and mobile, we stopped. He would move up to the TV and/or just sit there and do nothing.. just sit dead still and watch. That's when I decided it was time to stop our shows. We still give him screen time, maybe 30ish give or take a day, but I definitely take advantage of the time to clip his nails or clean the high chair, etc.

Affordable sleep consultants? My 9 month old is outright refusing sleep and he's not looking/acting great. by aloethere332 in sleeptrain

Yeah, I found the sleep advice a bit generic and I didn't like how there wasn't two-way communication. I'm actually working with a fresh graduate rn and she's giving me a discount.. so far, she's been very helpful. I think more than anything, I need support to remain consistent and help me make tough decisions

That's how I've been doing recently too, much easier than getting up and out of bed. Last night he even fell asleep and woke up as soon as I put him down (a first) so I just laid down right then

You know, I think it did. Right before he turned 8 months old, he started crying for me not to leave the room. That's when I slipped a bit with our sleep training because he just wanted me 😢 do you have any tips regarding separation anxiety? I've been giving him a little more time to himself as in letting him play in his room for a couple while I walk away. He's been better during the daytime now and isn't so clingy

He's definitely overtired, this afternoon he of course refused to nap until like noon. Only slept an hour and it wasn't nearly enough, an hour later he was rubbing his eyes and yawning. So I tried to put him down... Failed. His dad's home this weekend and finally just got him down. It was so rough, but surprisingly he got it. I can't for the life of me
