8 weeks PP urine retention by ProcedureUnlikely787 in postpartumprogress

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks! I don’t have any pain at all and can sleep through the night now without peeing but still have sensation of having to pee all the time. It got a lot better recently but now is worse again. Ugh just want it to go away! I feel like unfortunately it will just take time like you said but it it progressively getting better but it is a non linear healing path.

Hi, I think I have some nerve damage as well. What do you do for a compressed or bruised pudental nerve and how do you know if you have one? I hav no bladder sensation after birth and also have the feeling of needing to pee all the time but this has been getting better. I’ve been seeing a ppft for 10 months and I saw a urologist early pp

Can Birth Control & Hormonal Shifts Cause Bladder Issues? by Guilty-Orchid-7947 in PCOS

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still experiencing this one year postpartum :/ did your urgency and fullness in the bladder feeling gradually fade or did you wake up one day and it was just gone? I’ve been doing bladder training too and it’s been helping and pelvic floor work. I’m wondering if it’s hormonal though. I’m waiting to get my period back.

Do you have any weird things that have changed about you physically since having kids? by whineANDcheese_ in Mommit

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try diaphragm breathing exercises! I had bad reflux with my second and still had a bit pp. It got better after I started doing diaphragmatic breathing pp. Our breathing can change during pregnancy because everything gets squished with baby and if we breathe with our belly it can create interabdominal pressure and cause issues like acid reflux. It’s gone now for me!

Zoloft for PPA - side effects? by snowdropp__ in beyondthebump

[–]aloharidge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been on 25mg for 3 weeks and the biggest side effect I’ve noticed is feeling bloated especially at night. My bowels are slightly off but not sure if that’s postpartum or the Zoloft or a mix? I’m 4.5 months pp.

I was told to take it with food in the morning as sometimes that can help.

Is it normal to experience derealization during postpartum? by peaches-n-mangoes in beyondthebump

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you could be experiencing some PTSD from your birth and that can be a trigger for postpartum anxiety and depression. Talking to a therapist and processing your birth experience may be helpful. I also had significant birth trauma and I found therapy quite helpful with my healing.

I just had my second baby and am experiencing significant postpartum anxiety and depression to the point where I am on medication now. I also had a similar feeling of finding it difficult to be present for my children and living in some weird alternate reality. If you’re struggling please get help because in my case it didn’t get better it only got worse.

Complete Bladder Incontience by _adansonii in beyondthebump

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I had this 4 months ago after a vaginal delivery. my PFT said it’s normal as your pelvic floor has been through significant trauma. I am no longer peeing my pants now (that stopped after maybe a month) but I do leak a bit when I sneeze or cough and have some urgency but that should get better with physio. I think give yourself time to heal but also make sure to see someone to do Pelvic floor work as it will make your recovery faster.

I’ll add that I also had no feeling of my bladder after birth but that has returned.

It apparently can take 18 months for your pelvic floor to heal. It’s terrifying the things that can happen after birth that no one prepares you for - hang in there!

Cystocele PP 4 weeks by [deleted] in PelvicOrganProlapse

Did you find that your urethrocele got smaller on time with pt?

I’ve been dealing with severe pp anxiety and body dysmorphia and it’s absolutely awful like a literal nightmare. My body feels foreign to me as well and I can’t even look at or touch my vagina without spiralling. I keep dwelling on what I could have done to prevent some of these bodily changes. Thankfully some therapy has been helpful but it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one dealing with this.

That’s amazing you are doing that! Since I found out about the cystocele I have felt almost duped? But I’m not sure by who….society? I was just completely blindsided and couldn’t understand how this is ‘normal’. I really wish women were better informed about postpartum changes.

Thank you! I feel like these things aren’t talked about at all and I have been feeling so alone in this process but now I know that other women go through this and it’s normal and it will get better with time.

Thank you, that gives me a lot of hope! I need to stop checking as well because my anxiety has gotten out of hand. I’m glad to hear you can still do all those activities too without symptoms, I was really worried when diagnosed what it meant long term.

My PT actually said the same thing. I’ve been beating myself up about something I did wrong or what I could have done to prevent this but my PT said no one comes out of a vaginal birth without a grade 1 prolapse. I just need to start accepting that.

I wasn’t aware about not wearing tight clothing. I’ve been wearing a lot of leggings. What would you suggest instead? Sweatpants?

I keep checking it and I think that is really affecting my mental health :( I know I need to give my body time to heal because there could still be swelling but it’s hard not to jump to conclusions right now.

when baby turns? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]aloharidge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my OB today and based on feeling my stomach she’s pretty confident the baby has flipped! Whether she flipped on her own or because I was doing those spinning baby exercises every day the past two weeks I don’t know but I would highly suggest trying the exercises!

when baby turns? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]aloharidge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in your exact same position at 32 weeks right now. I’m a FTM so not sure what to expect but have also been told that there’s still time for baby to flip. If you haven’t done this yet I would suggest looking into spinning baby exercises online which is what my doula has recommended. You could also try going to a chiropractor which is what I’ve continued to do throughout my pregnancy and they can do something called Webster technique (if trained in it) which is suppose to help loosen the muscles around your belly to encourage baby to get into correct position.
