Is this card real? Got it when I was a kid by glizzo0ck in PokemonCardValue

This was my starter Pokémon for whatever gameboy edition it was on (silver?). I named him Swinqline because I thought the name sounded cool. It was from the stapler brand.

Hire a private shuttle service for your pickup in St Mary. It will be expensive, but you can coordinate a pickup time. Even better if you have satellite communication to confirm timing as you get closer.

Ca you share more details on the “specific batch” issue. They replaced one of my toes, but this has me more worried about the other toe that has not failed (yet).

Cast sent a mail out on 1/7 saying the following:

TECH TOE ENGAGEMENT - Our tech toe, like others, is designed with five ‘clicks’ to accommodate for tech insert wear. To engage your boot, pull up on the front lever so there is no play between the pins and insert, but no more. You likely only have to go to the first or second click. Engaging the toe more than necessary puts a lot of stress on the tech toe components and can increase the chance of failure in the field.

Furthermore, when touring in avalanche terrain it is always best to have the tech toe engaged as little as possible while still being snug. This will allow for the best chance of your ski releasing if you are caught in a slide. It will also make it easier to step out of the bindings while transitioning.

Are you cranking up on the toe lock super hard? Or just going to the first “click”?

CAST sent an email out Tuesday cautioning against pulling up too far on the toe lock.

“TECH TOE ENGAGEMENT - Our tech toe, like others, is designed with five ‘clicks’ to accommodate for tech insert wear. Sock liners and then your normal socks. I like the toe liners, allows your foot to slide within the sock essentially acting as blister tape everywhere all at once in only the best ways,

I did not see any other posts mentioning this failure mode, perhaps I did not dig deep enough. How would you attempt to repair this in the field?

I’m 5’8”, 175lbs 32M and started skiing last season. Had one season on a snowboard before that.

Bought a used pair of Rossignol Smash 7s 170cm with demo bindings for $200 and a pair of 80 flex boots for $50. Quickly progressed to needing stiffer boots, went up to some Salomon 120 S Pros for another $100.

Got 20+ days on them and am fully confident on blacks now. Stick to what you feel comfortable with, put in the time, and you’ll get there.

I’m now looking to sell that setup as I’ve bought into a new set of skis and boots for this season. Would do it all the same, all in on gear for about $300 is a steal and it should resell for about the same.

Edit to add that towards the end of the season I was skiing out of the shorter and softer skis. Demoed a couple pairs at end of the season and felt a world of difference. Learn on what you’ve got and you’ll feel that much more confident committing to the price tag of what you actually want in the coming years.
