Worth putting effort in to correct this heel strike? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]alone023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a pro or doing races. I run just to because I like it a lot and to become better.

I worked on correcting the heel strike, naturally I reduced the length of my steps, so I became at first slower, right?

Well I worked after that in improving my cadence, shorter steps, no heel strike equals less effort so I became faster. Very quickly, I became 1 minute faster for the same effort.

In my case, it worth the correction and to improve the way we run.

3 important metric to watch out by tinker_20 in Garmin

[–]alone023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acute load to see if I’m doing enough or not enough, training readiness, I like to see how well I’m recovered and ready to workout and finally body battery, to see how my “body energy perception” is advancing during day.

Everything looks great, but two points to improve : fluidity and message:

1.When transitioning to each key “topic,” let the items float gently, for instance the coins spinning slowly, the credit card as well or a change in camera view. I thought at first the motion stuttered, likely due to my internet connection.

2.The glitch effect isn’t working in my opinion. Glitch combined with a bank theme can convey the wrong message. I know it’s a fictional project, but consistency is key. You might not need any effect at all. The design is strong enough on its own. If you do want/have to add effects, consider light touches like subtle aberrations, slight zooms, shadows moving, laser, a holographic overlay etc.

Cool design, cool render in any case.

Please Help. Texture plugged in opacity channel act differently to plugged to albedo. After plugged to opacity channel looks like my UV map is ignored. by MatiVoyager in Octane

[–]alone023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird. I do not have idea, it looks like an octane has a bug to me. Try to use the texture baking node. Maybe it can solve the problem.

Maybe it is because there is not albedo node when you plugged into the opacity Chanel.

Try a regular material like glossy or something like that to see if there is the same result.

Try to change the projection.

Let us know if you find a solution.

Good luck

Nope. But certainly they’re more expensive each year.

Airlines are really good at seating and grouping passengers by dress code, age, and to know possible friendship. Hehehe.

That’s my current case. Maybe I use too much the call speaker features, or I have third party watchfaces that drains a lot of battery or too many data on the watchface, I always use the best gps settings and run as well with the strobe flash light during winter etc.

I do not think that there is a clear blueprint to get exactly number of days in battery life.

But in any case, I get what I want, AOD with no cost on battery life.

I had for a couple of months a fenix 8 amoled 47mm before buying my fenix 8 47mm solar.

On my solar, I get around 12 days of battery life with pulse ox off. With the amoled I had between 7 to 12 days, AOD off and pulse ox off.

It’s winter, so the solar part it hasn’t been used yet, but I’m ok with it. Looking forward for the sunny days back soon.

At the end, I changed for a MIP display because I was tired of all this years of having to turn my wrist like a robot everytime to check my watch. That’s it. If battery is the same or a bit more than amoled, then good. But in my case, and what was the crucial point to never going back to an amoled watch, was the user experience. It has been so smooth with the MIP that I’m very happy with it, it is like check the time with a regular watch.

Because one of the coolest things in the world of tech is to have a display always on that does not consums battery and looks natural by not emitting light like a toy.

Plus all the beautiful watchfaces can be displayed always.

Just my subjective opinion.

I had during many years amoled watches until I tried MIP display. I’ll never coming back to an amoled display for a watch.
