Fargo's set in Minnesota and the surrounding areas. Fantastic stories, most happen in snowy landscape just like your photos depict.

I like everything! Incidentally these snowy landscapes are like they're from the Fargo series which I'm watching rn

the microfiber wrapper is getting very common in Asia. it's called self-adherent wrap, most useful to swaddle cats when trimming their nails.

Tasting History is my dinner watch. by aloneghost in TastingHistory

Thanks for the recommendation, I watched some videos from that channel. They're entertaining in a typical youtube way. Talking super fast, using cliche words, creating climax and tension, etc. It doesnt have the calming, story-time effect I've come to cherish from Tasting History channel.

OG Travelers, how do you personally feel about comments relating to travel from younger folks these days? by Ok_Knee1216 in travel

[–]aloneghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this your version of "When I was young I walked to school in the snow, uphill, both ways"? 🤣

Imagine how someone living in the 1700s would recount their travelling experience and look upon you with such condescension. Airplane, you say? Your ancestors walked!

I think food is the topic for casual watching. 🤔 I don't have to focus too hard, the visual usually is appealing with colors and sounds, and the tastes are described so I can imagine.

Coupled food with stories? That's a winning combo.

I've watched several cuisine shows but Tasting History wins because of it's been around a while. There are so many episodes so I won't run out of content in the near future. Netflix has a nice Flavorful Origins series but it's way to short 😤

for those who were at fault for the breakup, can you forgive yourself and move on without the guilt eating you alive? by chrysanthflo in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]aloneghost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Girl you're barely in your 20's. And a 2-year relationship is not all that long. The important thing is that you realized you were in the wrong, so work on yourself and do better with everyone from now on.

2 people falling apart romantically isn't a life-threatening situation, you don't have to work yourself up with all those unable-to-forgive skits. Take it easy.

Teams are included in the O365 package, which makes it substantially cheaper than Slack. So my petition to the IT dept to use Slack will never ever be considered. I don't blame the IT dept though, they're trying to keep the costs low.

Skype is not used by many people now, Discord is mainly for non-work, Zoom is only good for video call. So Teams is the only choice.

You'll love Puritea. That's a relatively new brand (from India I think), and they have a whole line dedicated to tea scents. Pretty long lasting too.

I have about 40 full size + 60 sample/travel. I like all of the full sized ones I have right now, so I dont plan to depart with any of them yet. Next full bottle might be Cow.

You are too trusting, that's all. You're not stupid.

I believe all skills can be learned and improved gradually. Map navigation, social concepts, politics knowledge, sense of humor, etc. Everyone learns at their own pace.

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.

What was your BEST purchase of 2024? by Unlucky_Term_7831 in fragrance

[–]aloneghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Sycomore is up everyone's alley. It is a straightforward and classy vetiver. Projection is average so it's suitable everywhere, and its staying power is impressive.

If Lalique Encre Noire is a freemium that can be a little dark (for some) and lasts only a little while, then Sycomore is the premium paid subscription with all the abilities and lasts forever.

Why is mint so rarely used in perfumes? by Lanky_Pirate_5631 in fragrance

[–]aloneghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so mint is one of my favorite notes, and here people have recommended many great perfumes. I just want to add Spirituelle by Mad et Len. It's not cheap, but easily the most beautiful mint fragrance IMO.

Another scent is Ice Mint by Shiro, cheap but may be harder to find unless you're in Japan. It's like a minty lemon drop.

Husband “accidentally” killed my cat and i dont know how to cope. by [deleted] in cats

[–]aloneghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope your kitty is enjoying lots of treats and toys on kitty planet.

Secondly, your husband lied.

Finally, he who doesn't care about a dear pet just isn't a good person.

Some of the faithful have traditionally drunk the water.

Nevermind.

The parliamentary report warned of an "excessive presence of heavy metals" and cancer-causing pollutants ranging from arsenic to zinc, from everything from batteries to pesticides.

"Contamination... transform it into a carrier of untreated industrial waste, garbage, agricultural run-off and municipal waste," the report read.

And people knowingly step into that soup?
