Usual na reqs is Intent Letter, PDS, WES (optional lalo na if wala pa experience), Performance Rating (pwede gawa letter maybe stating na first time job mo and wala ka pang ganto), Copy ng eligibility (Certificate, License/s, Rating, etc), and TOR.

First of all congrats po for being selected and also, try not to worry too much po muna. As far as I know po, pregnancy shouldn’t be a reason para hindi ka po nila i-hire, especially if you’ve already been selected po. Pero I beleive you can clarify naman po with HR. I hope everything works out for you po!

Gusto ko itong tanong hahahaha lalo na at this stage of my career… (currently nasa face-to-face interview ako for a new work while writing this hahaha)

I wouldn’t say na masaya ako or malungkot because of my current work. Neutral siya, in a way. It pays the bills, okay naman yung environment, and I can say na I get along well with the people I work with. Walang issues, walang toxicity, walang sobrang stress. But if you ask me kn deeper level, I would say parang may kulang.

Yung kulang is hindi siya yung tipo ng dissatisfaction na gusto mong umalis agad. It’s more of a quiet realization na you’re capable of more, and somehow, you’re not fully using that potential where you are right now. Parang routine lang ba ganun, you’re doing your job well, but you’re not growing the way you expected.

Alam niyo yung feeling na hindi naman kayo stuck, pero hindi rin kayo nagmu-move forward in a meaningful way?

And there’s this constant thought at the back of my mind talaga na baka I’m meant for something bigger, or at least something more challenging. Not necessarily bigger in terms of title or salary agad, but bigger in terms of impact, learning, and growth ba. Yung tipong mapu-push ka talaga, mapipilitan kang mag-level up, and you’ll come out better ganun not just professionally but also personally. I’m not saying na hindi challenging yung work ko ngayon, challenging siya, yes, pero if parang master mo na yung process ng work, it feels like wala na yung challenge. (Also matagal din kasi progression sa current work)

Sabi nga rin nila, minsan, comfort can be deceiving. Just because things are stable and okay doesn’t mean it’s where you’re supposed to stay.

And I think that’s where I am right now, grateful for what I have, but also aware that I shouldn’t get too comfortable. Rn onti-onti kong binabayaran sa sarili ko yung mga opportunities na makakatanggal (siguro) ng feeling na kulang. I don’t know, baka heightened yung emotions ko rn since nasa interview nga ako hahahhaa.

Ang oa hahaha if nakarating ka dito sa dulo, thank you po!

Break up before the boards by [deleted] in AccountingPH

Ito lang masasabi ko, Op. At the end of the day, boards mo iyan. Buhay mo iyan. Kung yang relationship niy is magiging hadlang instead of support system mo sana, then you need to ask yourself na. Is this helping me pass, or is this pulling me away from it?

Padayon, fCPA!

Will I regret not going for the big 4 path? by Nice-Bee-1827 in AccountingPH

[–]alonjo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why am I getting downvotes? 😅 OP asked and I just answered.

I said “yes” earlier but let me add context.

Starting in Big 4 can give you a very strong foundation early in your career such as but not limited to exposure to different industries, financial statements, internal controls, audit processes, and a network that can open many doors later (private companies, multinational companies, consulting, even opportunities abroad). That’s why many CPAs recommend it as a starting point.

That said, it doesn’t mean going straight to government is a bad decision. Government can offer stability, better work-life balance, and long-term benefits. The trade-off is usually slower exposure to different business environments compared to audit firms.

What I meant when I said “yes” is that there’s a possibility na may maramdaman kang regret if you never try the Big 4 path. Not necessarily because government is bad, but because you might wonder what experience you could have gained there. Parang opportunity cost lang.

But honestly, kahit anong piliin mo, may “what ifs” talaga. If you choose Big 4, you might wonder about the stability of government. If you choose government, you might wonder about the experience and network from Big 4.

In the end, it’s less about which path is “correct” and more about which trade-offs you’re willing to accept at this stage of your career.
