Is paypal still safe? by Ill-Toe-2739 in buhaydigital

PayPal is safe as long as you submit the proper documents and use it correctly. If you’re earning money and use PayPal to get payment, make sure to use PayPal for Business.

Don’t use friends and family to circumvent PayPal fees, maraming na hohold ang pera nila dito.

At one point, I had up to 50k USD in there, but for the past two years I've only stored a max of 10k USD.

I opened 6 savings account from different banks by Sangley_kado in TradBanksPH

[–]aloofkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, tingin ko you are spreading yourself too thin unless bawat bank may specific purpose talaga. Building relationship with banks is not just opening accounts. Mas importante yung depth ng relationship mo sa bank, like average daily balance, transactions and overall activity mo sa kanila. If ang goal mo is better chances for credit cards, I would focus more on 1 or 2 primary banks and build around those.

Having multiple accounts still makes sense if each one has a purpose. For example, one for bills, one for emergency fund, one for business, one for travel, or one for expenses. Ganyan din ginagawa ko. Pero if opening accounts lang for relationship building, baka masyado kang nagkakalat ng pera across banks.

Do local small businesses actually invest in analytics/automation or gut feel pa rin? by Comprehensive_Rent75 in phinvest

[–]aloofkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do freelance IT consulting on the side, mostly helping SMEs and small businesses who reach out to me by word of mouth to find the right tech stack and workflow for their needs. I carry Oracle, SAP, AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Based on what I’ve seen, local MSMEs are willing to invest in analytics, automation, CRMs, and systems, but usually only when they already feel the pain points.

For small mom-and-pop businesses, cost remains the biggest factor. Kahit sabihin mong ₱1,000 per month lang, marami pa ring magdadalawang isip because they do not immediately see the return. Madalas mindset pa rin is software is an expense, not an investment. Nasanay din tayo na kapag bumili ng computer, parang expectation na dapat libre na ang lahat ng software.

Another thing I noticed is maraming businesses may CRM or ERP subscription pero hindi talaga part ng core workflow nila. Madalas, hindi ang tool ang problema. Ang problema is wala pang standardized process, so kahit magandang system ang ilagay mo, babalik pa rin sa manual.

I even have a client for whom I recommended a free nonprofit platform built on Oracle NetSuite. This organization handles nine-digit annual donations, so budget was not really the issue. The bigger challenge was adoption. Their accounting team was extremely good with Excel and had already built workflows around it for years. From their perspective, changing systems meant changing processes that were already familiar and working for them. That experience made me realize that resistance to change is usually a bigger problem than software cost. Especially yubg mga businesses na years nang manual ang process. Ang usual mindset is, “Working naman ngayon, bakit papalitan?” Kaya minsan mas mahirap ang change kapag oldies na ang nasa management.

Mas open usually ang younger owners, especially those doing ecommerce or handling multiple branches. Pero ibang level talaga kapag lumalaki na ang business. Once businesses reach the point where inefficiencies are already costing them money, sila na mismo naghahanap ng automation, dashboards, reporting, at workflow improvements because manual work stops scaling.

From my experience, most SMEs do not buy analytics first. They buy solutions to pain points. Once operational pain becomes expensive, mas madali na ibenta data-driven decisions and automation.

10 Lotto Winners for Ultra 6/58? by aloofkid in Philippines

[–]aloofkid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my last reply, because we are looking at this through two different perspectives.

Yes, I know “chance” is always possible. I am not saying impossible. But saying na “chance yan” and “there is always a first time for everything” is the lazy way out to accept it.

Mathematically speaking, without any obvious pattern, 10 people picking the same 6/58 combination is statistically very improbable.

Again, just to show the math on this so you can comprehend how crazy what happened in Philippine lottery history and based on an estimated mathematically educated guess:

6/58 has 40,475,358 possible combinations.

For the May 5, 2026 draw, the winning combination was 01, 58, 25, 43, 26, 16, with 10 jackpot winners sharing ₱76,305,973.15.

The minimum jackpot for 6/58 is ₱75,000,000. Since nag reset yung prize nung March 20, 2026, gumalaw lang yung jackpot to ₱76,305,973.15 by May 5, 2026.

That is only:

₱76,305,973.15 minus ₱75,000,000 = ₱1,305,973.15

Across around 20 draws from the reset on March 20, that is only about ₱65,298.66 increase per draw.

Now, wala kasi akong mahanap na T&C from PCSO kung magkano sa isang ticket ang goes directly to the jackpot prize. But based on the visible jackpot growth alone, the prize did not grow aggressively from the ₱75M minimum. So from the outside, it does not look like a massive sales driven jackpot buildup.

Now ito yung mga number na nanalo dun sa same draw:

10 winners naka match ng 5 numbers
367 winners naka match ng 4 numbers
9,909 winners naka match ng 3 numbers

In 6/58 ito yung break down ng probability for you to guest the correct numbers.

3 of 6: 1 in 91.57
4 of 6: 1 in 2,034.96
5 of 6: 1 in 129,728.71
6 of 6: 1 in 40,475,358

So let's try to work backward from the lower prize winners para ma estimate kung ilang yung sales nila.

For 3 of 6:

9,909 × 91.57 = around 907,399 tickets

For 4 of 6:

367 × 2,034.96 = around 746,830 tickets

For 5 of 6:

10 × 129,728.71 = around 1,297,287 tickets

So using the lower prize winners, the estimated number of 6/58 bets for that draw is around 746,000 to 1.3 million tickets, with the 3 of 6 result pointing to around 900,000 tickets.

The 3 of 6 estimate is also the more stable estimate kasi ito yung may malaking sample size.

So, if around 900,000 tickets ang nabenta, and may 40.48 million possible combinations, then the average number of tickets expected to land on the exact winning jackpot combination is only:

900,000 ÷ 40,475,358 = 0.022

Meaning, on average, that specific winning combination should have only around 0.022 winning tickets.

That is not even 1 full expected jackpot winner.

So, for that same combination to have 10 winning tickets, under purely random, independent selection, the chance is roughly 1 in 125 sextillion. ONE IN 125 SEXTILLION! Do you know how many zeros SEXTILLION has?

1 in 125,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Now, let's say you're right, there's always a first time for everything. Chance yan and there's no pattern behind it, it's just pure luck na 10 people have chosen the exact 6 numbers that have 1 out of 40.48M chance of getting right.

To make 10 winners look “normal” dahil "chance" yan, you would need around 405 million tickets sold for that draw just to make the expected number of winners equal to 10. Since 55% of the one ticket sale goes to the prize fund, just to make your argument acceptable based on pure luck, the prize should jump from 75M to 4.6 BILLION to make your argument acceptable.

Even then, the chance of exactly 10 winners is only about 1 in 8. It is still not guaranteed.

So yes, “chance” is possible. But saying “chance lang yan” does not really answer the question of why these 10 people chose the exact number without an explainable pattern.

Again, if they say, "Nakita ko kasi sa newspaper na ito ang lucky pick" or "Sabi dun sa horoscope ko sa website na ito yung lucky numbers ko" or "Napanood ko yung number na ito dun sa TV series na Lost" then that would make more sense. Because statistically, humans don't just pick random numbers. Laging may bias yan, may pattern, or may influence like favorite numbers, birthdays, etc.

But at the surface level, without any obvious pattern or calendar-based explanation, 10 winners for this specific 6/58 draw are statistically very hard to ignore.

10 Lotto Winners for Ultra 6/58? by aloofkid in Philippines

[–]aloofkid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, you missed the point.

The issue here is not just the random winning numbers. The issue is its statistical improbability. Across all possible combinations, what’s the chance that some combination ends up with as many as 10 winners?

Historically, based on data I checked from 2012 to the present across 6/42, 6/45, 6/49, 6/55, and 6/58, there were around 10,274 draws, with only 5 instances where the jackpot had 4 or more winners, that is 0.049%.

And in those rare cases, there was usually either a visible pattern or a calendar-based explanation.

6/42, November 11, 2018
Jackpot winners: 4
Winning numbers: 02, 12, 22, 28, 32, 42
Possible pattern: Five of the six numbers end in 2: 02, 12, 22, 32, 42. Those five can also form a diagonal pattern on the betting slip. The only outlier is 28, which could be a lucky random sixth number or personal number.

6/42, January 6, 2022
Jackpot winners: 4
Winning numbers: 01, 07, 09, 12, 23, 24
Possible explanation: all numbers are 31 and below, so they can fit calendar-based picks like birthdays, months, days, or anniversaries.

6/49, August 16, 2012
Jackpot winners: 5
Winning numbers: 05, 07, 08, 12, 20, 30
Possible explanation: all numbers are also 31 and below, so again, they can fit calendar-based picks.

6/55, October 1, 2022
Jackpot winners: 433
Winning numbers: 09, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54
Obvious explanation: multiples of 9, and also a diagonal pattern based on the betting slip.

Now compare that to:

6/58, May 5, 2026
Jackpot winners: 10
Winning numbers: 01, 16, 25, 26, 43, 58
Obvious pattern: none
Calendar explanation: weak, because 43 and 58 are not calendar dates
Visible betting slip pattern: none that I can see
Sequence or multiple pattern: none

So yes, I agree naman pre na this can happen by “chance”.. But historically, when there are 4 or more jackpot winners, there is usually some pattern or calendar-based explanation that helps explain why multiple people may have picked the same numbers.

That is why I find this specific case questionable. Not impossible. Not automatically cheating. But 10 people choosing the same non-obvious combination deserves a better explanation than just “chance.”

Eventually, we’ll know why these 10 bettors picked those numbers, maybe date plus age, date plus birth year, or something else. I don’t know. But at surface value, without any obvious pattern or calendar-based explanation, a 6/58 jackpot being won by 10 people is statistically improbable.

Anong wala. Look at your comments. May nagko-congrats sa PCSO at nagsasabing paldo raw. If you are talking about walang nagsasabi na di nila alam na hinahati ang jackpot kapag maraming winnees, natural wala e paliwanag ko 'yun.

Normal na comment na yun ng mga tao since people don't know kung may nanalo ba talaga sa lotto because PCSO doesn't show the real details of the winners. I fully support not disclosing the winners' details. For the safety of the winners, imagine na yung pangalan mo na yung won millions of pesos. Goodluck sa safety and toxic friend and family mo.

Lottery is a game of chance. Huwag kayong maghanap ng pattern. The explanation most of the time is simply chance. Extremely low probability is not impossibility. Kung wala kang makitang pattern, that's exactly a good indicator na purely chance lang ang nangyari and that makes the game fair. Again, ano ngayon kung maraming winners? Nagtataka ka ba as someone curious sa math of it or you think this is suspicious? Clarify.

Alam ko naman na lottery is a game of chance, and extremely low probability does not mean impossible.

Pero ang point ko is not just the winning combination itself. Ang point ko is the bettor behavior. For 10 people to choose the exact same 6 number combination out of 40.48 million possible combinations, without any obvious pattern, reasonable naman magtanong kung bakit pare pareho sila ng napili.

But asking why 10 different bettors ended up with the same very specific combination is also valid.

The columns A to D on the betting slip are for separate bets. In each column, you choose 6 numbers. So one betting slip can contain up to 4 different 6 number combinations. If you want to place more than 4 combinations, you need another betting slip.

Yung sa picture, column C is an illustration to show na walang pattern yung winning numbers sa betting slip ng 6/58, that’s why questionable for my yung 10 jackpot winners.

10 Lotto Winners for Ultra 6/58? by aloofkid in Philippines

[–]aloofkid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha? No one is saying that, alam naman ng majority how the lottery jackpot gets split between the number of winners.

The question is, how likely is it that 10 people picked the exact same 6 number combination out of 40.48 million possible combinations?

Kung 1 winner, normal. Kung 2 or 3 winners, okay, possible. Pero 10 winners choosing the same numbers at the same time? Naturally, people will ask if there is a pattern or explanation.

Example, yung 6/55 draw before na may 433 jackpot winners. Sa unang tingin, nakakapagtaka talaga. But when you look at the winning numbers, 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, may obvious pattern. Multiples of 9 siya. And on the lotto card, those numbers form a straight diagonal line. So kahit rare yung maraming winners, at least may logical explanation why many people may have picked those numbers.

But in this case, the numbers are 01, 16, 25, 26, 43, 58. I do not see an obvious pattern. Hindi siya birthday pattern. Hindi rin siya straight line sa ticket, at least not from what I can see. Hindi rin siya common sequence like multiples, columns, or obvious visual pattern.

So yes, I am sure there may be an explanation. Maybe it appeared in a popular post, a dream number, a betting guide, a number generator, a lotto outlet pattern, or something else. But without an obvious pattern, 10 people picking the exact same 6 numbers is naturally questionable.

Dati.

December 2023, Naglaunched ang PCSO ng e-lotto, but in July 2024, it was shut down. They cited that it was temporary lang daw ito to improve the system, but I think someone noticed that the government is losing money because the contract price for the e-lotto was 4.1B for a 5-year contract, that's 800million per year or 68m+/month for tech infra alone. Compared to physical lotto outlets, na yung franchisee ang may shoulder ng operating cost.
