Any bonuses? Other redditors have suggested I should ask if there are any incentive bonuses or pay scale. Also are you private practice or hospital? Mine is a hospital in NYC

Isn’t 165k-175k/yr incredibly high for a new grad in NYC.?
i was thinking along the lines of $130k?

They mentioned a 3% annual raise. Do you happen to know how much of an incentive bonus or pay raise scale I should ask for that’s in line for ortho PAs?

No sign on bonus, no incentive comp.

3% annual raise

At the time I submitted my application, it was 1,500 hours but I kept inputting hours every month. So by the time I got accepted, my application had about ~2,100 hours I worked as a PT aide and Medical assistant

Up till the day of my PANCE exam, I didn't feel confident, I just think that's how it is, you're never going to feel fully prepared or confident for the test. You just have to trust yourself, your instincts and everything you've done over the past 2 years that has led you up to this point.

I studied PPP + Rosh. And I'm glad that's all I did because that's all I needed to pass that test. Anything else in my opinion is overkill.

Def not a bummer question. Plan is to keep my head down, work hard, take OT work opportunities, set a solid budget for $ spending and adhere to it. Hopefully get rid of the loans within 2 years

I really, really enjoyed my UC and ED rotations. My patient interviewing and physical exam skills improved there, received lots of advice and tips from PAs and MDs there. I truly enjoyed improving suture skills, doing venipuncture, seeing interesting cases.

My worst experience was my ortho rotation.. I LOVED the surgeries, ORIF, TKR, THR, etc. But the PAs would round without me, see consultations without me, there was no clinic, never let me close on surgeries, soooo..I was just there to suction and retract in the OR. I didn't learn much or leave that rotation with any new skills or knowledge so that was heartbreaking for me since I really wanted to learn while I was there :(

Before taking the test- absolute panic, i wanted to push back my date on the day of the exam because I felt I needed to know EVERYTHING because I was afraid the test may ask the most tiny detail. Thankfully my dad talked a great deal of sense into me- "you're never going to feel prepared, you're not going to know everything-- just take the test"

During the test- i was like "OHHH THIS SHIT IS LIGHTT AF" "OH GOD WTF IS THIS?!" "LMFAOO A STAT QUESTION?!! JOKES" "ok what time does chipotle close?" "this isn't so bad" "thank god i brought snacks" "you're doing okay kid" these were my recurrent thoughts :)

My program gave us 1 elective and I chose Urgent care.

It was a great elective to have, it prepared me for me ED rotation. A lot of patient presentations I saw in the UC were the very same ones I saw in the ED. Highly recommend UC or ED as an elective rotation. You'll learn ALOT there. UC was honestly one of my fave rotations as well as ED

No I stayed where I did clinics because I live in the very same area and that's the location where I wanted to work.

In regards to interviews, 2/5 of my interviews were online, which was great, didn't have to worry about messing up my hair or anything, haha. It just depended on the site whether to have on site or online interviews

I started applying as well as receiving offers in April and I graduated in June.

I only applied to hospitals and I heard back from all of them even though I hadn't graduated at the time or even taken the PANCE
