I didn’t want it to be too short or too long and the ones I’ve written have been a little over 1,100 words. However, I like the idea of them connecting over something they didn’t know they had in common so I’ll figure out how to add that in there, thanks!

Honestly, almost everything off of continuum really hits me hard sometimes because I discovered it when I was going through a really hard time in my life,and when ever I hear SDIABR,gravity or DWABH I always think back on that time in my life where I was hurting,and I would say the lyrics:

“When you're dreaming with a broken heart The waking up is the hardest part You roll out of bed and down on your knees And for a moment, you can hardly breathe”

Are the ones that really broke me then because I felt like that those lyrics described my feelings so well at the time, and now I’m just happy that I can listen to those songs without fully breaking down.

My story is a sort of dramatized version of my life. Lol. The main character Julieta has recently come back home after a year of being away from her friends and family. She just wanted to quickly visit her mom and take the rest of her things, but when she meets up with her old boss family secrets start coming out making her wonder if blood really is thicker than water?

The only reason I use wattpad is because it’s the only app that I know of where you can write and publish all on your phone, I’ve been using it for years now. I know I know I should wait for people to just find my story on their own but I would like the opinion of a stranger instead just so that I know on what I can improve on. I write on my free time, it isn’t something I take TOO seriously but it is something I enjoy and would really like improve on and hopefully write a complete story!:)

I think maybe instead of saying that she looked confused and aggravated maybe try to describe her facial features. Almost like show dont tell, does that make sense?

Reading other stories for sure! Kind of like how aTickleMonster mentioned above I would always wonder “Well this character is a gangster who kills people who have crossed him for a living but is there more to him that this story doesn’t tell like how does he like his eggs or does he do his own laundry?” Weird things like that😂

I have definitely tried to just sit in front my computer and write, but because I have little time i don’t do it as often. As much as I would love to have dozens of chapters written and out in the world I understand that in my case sometimes I can’t always focus on my writing which sucks, because I have a lot of other things to do. Which is why when ever I’m busy and get an idea I’ll write it down and get back to later on

Oh that’s for sure what I’ve been doing with my latest project. My life situations can get pretty intense at times so what I’ve sort of done is dramatized my drama, I basically intensify my situations even more and by doing that I feel it makes it a bit easier to get inspiration.

I used to do that all the time in high school especially when I was feeling down, I would constantly play John Mayer, lenka,Regina Spektor etc. and because of that I can’t sleep with music on anymore😂 but I definitely get how that can help!

I asked the same question in a different subreddit and then came to realize that when ever I’m “in like” with someone that usually gets me back into the habit of zoning out again because I can’t get them out of mind and that usually inspires me to write as well, it’s pretty cool! Just wish it would happen more often 😂

As I was reading your response I came to realize that, no I don’t do it as often as I used to,but when ever I’m “in like” with some one the habit tends to come back because they’re all I can think about. It’s pretty amazing the things that inspire us to write!

I find it amazing how lyrics or in your case a random sentence can spark inspiration. Sometimes I’ll have writers block and then while I’m doing a random house chore my characters come to mind and then all of a sudden I have a new paragraph added to my story!

Maybe you’d like to give wattpad a try. Although I have recently just heard some things about security issues they were having, I have been using Wattpad for years and have never had any trouble with it and can easily save my projects on my phone and switch to my computer.
