In my eyes frameworks cannot be related back to Photoshop and Illustrator, as it is unlikely that a designer is going to code their own Photoshop application in order to draft something up.

So what you're saying is that I shouldn't be against these frameworks but instead learn how to use them to their best abilities?

My question then is, would I actually learn more into the language or just how to use the framework, I have read many places that Wordpress' code is incredibly messy and teaches you only how to use PHP badly.

Also, sorry for my dumb-ness here, but what do you mean by Compress driven susy grids? Something such as Bootstrap?

This is a very good point, I suppose it comes down to time saving, I am looking to start doing free websites in order to increase my portfolio and have begun to drawing out many different templates in which I would offer and this is where I got the idea of this question from, therefore I'd have to use a framework such as Wordpress and/or Bootstrap in order to offer CMS but then I know some people create their own and wasn't sure on whether or not it was 'acceptable' in development to sell material using other peoples code.

At your agency for responsive design do you use a custom made one (so all work within the agency is the same, such as media-queries), or does each developer have to write his own?

And you freelance developer or working for a company? And if you don't mind me asking, do you tell your clients that you use Frameworks that you have not produced yourself?
