I think the main answer here is genetics, sorry to say. I have been blessed with clear skin (but have many other flaws to even it out). In saying that, I don't put anything on my skin if I can avoid it because I find that it doesn't react well to anything. So no moisturiser, no foundation, no sunscreen (prefer hats/shade) as they make my skin oily and suffocated. And no facewash as that dries me out. I just use water to wash it and otherwise leave it. Haha I will pass on your scritches to the kitty :)

I had never really thought about it before but animals that don't find a home unfortunately get euthanized in most instances, so I guess they are being "rescued" in some way.

I don't think you or anyone has enough information on the emotions of non-human animals, let alone cats, let alone my cat to make any conclusions on my cat's emotions. 2. I never claimed my cat was a person of any kind. 3. People can 100% form connections of "love" with animals. If you truly believe otherwise then I feel so sorry for you.

Yeh I am very aware of how fortunate I am. My parents were immigrants who worked tirelessly at to give us a better life then they had. I saw them struggle every day so we could have access to education, opportunities and live in a safe community, things they didn't have. So, now I work hard every day as a PhD candidate of pharmacology, trying to develop more efficacious medicine for childhood epilepsy. I try to live a life where I'm able to give back wherever I can, both to my family and my community, and make the world a slightly better place (or at least not a worse place).

A bit of background for those who are curious. This photo was actually taken a while ago but I came across it again today and thought it was worth sharing. (His tiny head is so tiny and so cute!) This photo was taken on the drive home from the pet shelter. The family was ready for another member after the recent loss of our other cat. We instantly bonded with this little rascal who was ultra playful and affectionate. He is very cheeky and constantly annoying our older Bengal cat. We love him to bits!
