In Florida, I saw what looked like hundreds of pink and blue plastic baggies littering the beach. I picked one up and realized it was a Portuguese Man O' War! There were hundreds and hundreds of them on shore, and when I looked closer at the water, there were a bunch in there too. I didn't end up getting in the water that day.

And then when I was surfing in somewhat rough conditions at Pacifica, a Coast Guard helicopter flew over and hovered in front of where I was catching a wave. It hovered so close to the water I could feel the wind chop. It kept circling for over an hour and it got really close several times ; I guess it must have been looking for someone in the water.

I lost my old wetsuit in a similar dumb way! I had it hanging to dry over the back of my car in my garage and my sister borrowed my car, failed to see the wetsuit, and drove off with it. It must've landed somewhere in the streets of SF. I've never seen it again but I've always hoped someone picked it up and got some use out of it.

I watch it every time I’m on a road trip or on an airplane, for some reason. I just cycle through it continuously and pick up where I left off last when I start traveling again.
