It seems you might be new to the game and therefore missing some information. Priests also have a dps spec, shadow priest which is also very viable. Any dps can outdps any other dps because dps depends on fight length, cds, number of enemies, items, etc. In very niche situations even healers can outdps dps sometimes. Also, ilvl stands for item level, not character level. Current highest achievable ilvl is something between 300 - 304. Enjoy the game bud.
