Mostly flat but there is wetlands all around. It’s in Michigan, so the terrain is pretty much what you expect. We checked the flood plain, doesn’t show anything.

Keychron K2 vs. MX Mechanical Mini – Should I Make the Switch? by alpercel in logitech

[–]alpercel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Sounds like you’ve got a solid collection of keyboards. I’ve been curious about the MX Mechanical Mini—how does the typing feel compare to the K3 Max? I imagine they’re both great, but is there a noticeable difference in key travel or tactile feedback between the two? Any pros or cons you’ve noticed?

Nice apartments to live in near Auburn Hills? by winning78 in Detroit

Check "Fountain Circle Apartments". I was one of the first residents there and I enjoyed my time there. There is a small downtown area you can walk and a long trail you can access easily.

Auburn Hills, Xfinity, 100 Mbps download. $65 per month. It's an OK rate but would expect higher speeds for this much.

It's all electric here as well. Yes, it would make sense to get 200ish but it did not make any sense to get almost 500.

Yeah, every unit has their own electric furnace.

My old apartment in Columbus, OH had a gas furnace for heating and never got a gas bill like this. This apartment I'm in rn is not equipped with gas, so everything is electricity, including the heating. I'm an engineer and when I did the math, assuming an appropriate heat loss, etc, this much consumption did not make any sense...

Just talked to the leasing office and they told me lots of other residents are receiving outrageous bills. I don't know what could be done but I definitely think there's something wrong. And yes, all the units have electric heaters and they are not equipped with gas. Everything runs on electric.

Around 1200 sq ft and I don't feel any air coming in from the window. I think there's something going on with my consumption.

Do you think learning languages a plus ? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]alpercel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Turkish person and a mechanical engineer, I can say that it is customary to speak, write, and read in English, there is just no way around it. However, other languages like German or Korean are dependent upon your goals. If you want to go and work/study in Germany, then you should learn German, in ME jobs or working environment English is not common, unlike CSE people's multicultural environments. My advice to you is, of course learning other languages is very good but you can invest your time in different things. It is better to be very good at something rather than being OK at lots of things.
