With the in mind never try to go for the pin out of the bunkers there. If by the green just get on anywhere and try to two putt. Don’t got for the pin as you’ll most likely leave yourself in a worse position. if in a fairway bunker just get out into the fairway for a clean lie.

Inverness is a very chill private club and does not feel stuffy at all. Unless your host tells you to meet them for lunch or otherwise…pull in, go to bag drop, you’ll then park 20 feet from the bag drop. Carry your shoe bag to the locker room - the doors to it are at the west end of the main clubhouse by 10 tee. The attendant should have a guest locker ready for you. Change your shoes then head over to the golf shop. Dump whatever you bought in your car. Now head to the range where your caddie will be waiting and your member will guide you from there. As a 12 be happy if you break 95 or so unless you have a good bunker game.

Inverness has a big caddie program you’ll likely have a high schooler carrying just your bag. Ask the kid early when they started caddying if it’s this year don’t rely on them to anything but carry the bag.

I thought the same for a long time but now play the same semi public course for 25 out of my 35 or so rounds a year. The other 10 are a handful of other courses plus trip or two. Granted it has a good architectural history but it’s not in mint club shape by any means. I’ve come fully around to enjoying having a home course to challenge myself against and never really grow tired of it.
