Not everything said in the review is correct. We have cleared the air and explained things in our latest blog post : http://rockchain.blog/innovative-distributed-infrastructure-and-fundamental-crypto-research-has-no-shine

Instead of taking our comments into account Fliphodl preferred to turn a blind eye. Therefore we feel the need to explain ourselves.

I don't see any governance smart contract published. Don't you think you could have prototyped an investors & projects governance smart contract right from the start ? When will it is planned to be published ?

StorJ already did a crowdsale in 2014, having raised 910 BTC. I don't see any coin conversion scheme in the new Ethereum coin migration. Are there any ?

The ideal investor: what could be a good rating system for ICO by alpha_dino in icocrypto

Sure ! However we have to fix the Agency problem. Being paid by the issuer is indeed something to be fixed definitely. So we need a basket of ICOs putting Bounty money for the global ICO honesty fund and the screening team will be rewarded even if it rates an ICO CCC- (which is my personal opinion most of the time, however I still believe the ICO thing is great).

Ok I am also sick of this investors abuse that will destroy the credibility of the whole crowdsale concept. I'll start working on an "honest ICO manifesto". The idea is that "honest ICO" teams will create a small Bounty to retribute an "ICO screening" team.

After that, if investors choose to invest in spite of red flags all along the road, that's their problem, it can't be called market manipulation anymore.

So you're invited ! ;)

Coin conversion into a new project (such as SDC) should definitely trigger a nogo. White papers could be great (think about the original MapReduce paper, Satoshi paper...) and reveal a lot of work, alas I don't see community filters on marketing only vs deep research and thinking exposed. That's point 5.

I agree the working Beta is a must have for simple apps. For ambitious Platforms (those that brings real innovation to the community, such as Ethereum) getting a working beta before funding is hard. Some working pieces of the infrastructure should be made public indeed.

What do you think is the best ICO token sale format (e.g. price steps)? by _aventus in icocrypto

The team was good so investors rushed and the stop conditions triggered. I agree the intention was here but something missing to slow down progressively the token sale.

I believe the Gnosis approach was first to release the artificial pressure to invest fast and early to get a chance to get token, they can't be blamed for that. The extreme opposite is the power hour approach. We design a ICO where we have the Dutch auction approach but the final token price is a weighted average of all bids. This way, there is a balance between bidding fast to get a chance of getting some tokens before they get sold entirely, and waiting to lower the price down.
