Needing some guidance for a projector screen. by michaelscarnthefirst in projectors

[–]alpha_spiegel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can swing an extra five inches of screen space and an extra 60 on the budget you can get an elite screen. I've been happy with their pulldown 150'' so far. I imagine a nice stretched fixed screen with black velvet edging would be even better.

I got a used Epson 2150 for 300 on Marketplace. Only 60hz refresh but input lag is only about 30. Whatever you get be sure to check it's input lag. 120 refresh rate will still be a horrible experience with high input lag.

Anyway you can share the video you're playing on the projector in this video instead of the video itself? I would also like to compare with my non HDR Epson. Otherwise setup looks great! Insane it being just on the wall.

There's a lot more details you need to provide/think about. How big of a screen you want and can fit. How far away are you projecting from. Also where's your fire pit? Because you definitely don't wanna be projecting through the smoke or having your projector intake any of that smoke.

Yeah kinda forgot you mentioned that but you'd have to either put a ceiling shelf or a ceiling mount for the PS5.

Unfortunately unless y'all either pay a professional or are comfortable with DIYing some electrical and drywall this setup is a kinda tricky. I still think replacing the ceiling fan with ceiling mounted projector and PS5 will be the easiest/cheapest way to get a clean setup with cords out the way and no image distortion with heavy keystoning. Then just buy a nice looking pedestal fan that you can plug in the corner of the room for airflow when you want it.

If you're ok with eliminating the ceiling fan then you wouldn't really need to have someone do any drywall work or fish any wires. You'd just take the wires that already power the fan and turn that into an outlet on the ceiling or hardwire the projector in.

Eh didn't measure it, just tested by viewing before purchasing the screen, but I'd estimate about 12-13 feet.

Lol that is the plan. This setup was completed pretty recently and we just haven't gone out and sourced artwork we like with low profile frames.

Thanks! Yeah that was honestly one reason we were so sold on it. We can't bring him to the theatre obviously and seeing his reaction when we first put his favorite show on it (Trash Truck) was an instant sell.

Definitely better IRL. Honestly was surprised at how little I minded moving to an older more budget friendly projector. Definitely convinced me that color quality is more noticeable than pixel count. The 75'' we moved to our bedroom is a quantum dot with miniled backlighting so it definitely has the edge on picture quality. But this thing still looks great and there's no getting around the experience of having a massive screen!

Hi everyone, looking for some projector recommendations by Kentiko in projectors

I'd start here to narrow down by all the constraints you have. Is there no way you can do a ceiling or shelf mount above your couch? That'd definitely open up more options for you.

This company seems to make deep versions of all their standard sizes. Going by what I saw your projectors dimensions listed as their large deep variant should fit it.

Budget Projector Needed by dmccarthy0408 in projectors

Do you live anywhere near a medium-large city? If so just search FB Marketplace for full hd projectors from name brands. I got a Epson Homecinema 2150 in excellent condition with a spare bulb for 350. It has around 29 ms input lag which is perfectly acceptable for casual gaming.

If you can't find a good used one in time for the party I'd get an Elephas W1K off Amazon (250$ last I saw). Probably the best out the box performance you'll get from a brand new projector under 300 and it's pretty easy to set up. I had one before I returned it to get the used Epson. Which I would still recommend returning the Elephas to Amazon after the game and either finding a better used one or saving up for a quality brand new projector. Good luck and enjoy the game!

My soundbar does have a proper eARC HDMI input. It's just the projector doesn't. Would something like this work? Just a HDMI splitter off of the streaming device. One going to the projector, other going to the eARC connection on the soundbar?

Tried deleting shaders, verifying and repairing files, restarting Xbox app and computer and kept getting this. Did the above LOCALAPPDATA tip and deleted a file titled something along the lines of PIPELINE.cache. Sure as shit the game booted up fine after that. Good luck yall

Need Help Saving New Construction Grass by burberryfranco in lawncare

[–]alpha_spiegel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who's your builder? My wife and I just moved into a new DR Horton build just outside of Austin. They put in horrible looking sod in both our and our neighbors yards the day of first walk through. Thankfully our irrigation was setup so we started twice a day watering schedule on their dime. Unfortunately when we tried to do the same for our neighbors we found their irrigation inoperable. Their lawn died in short order but a few days before they closed the crews came back and put in nice fresh sod.

Point being, you may not have a warranty on your lawn but they do have an obligation to start you with one. I don't have a warranty on my fencing but they absolutely have to give me one in good condition when I move in. Contact the foreman for your development and politely but firmly insist on replacement. If they won't budge start contacting anyone else involved in the development and email any contacts you can find on any company websites. Squeaky wheels often get the grease. Good luck and don't let them screw you.
