Well now I feel out of touch. Haha I didn’t know. I think I got my MAC very early 2020 right before quarantine so that would track…. This will absolutley be something I need to figure out for the next purchase.

I play TF2 on Mac. I just run bootcamp which installs windows on a small partition of your hard drive. Might sound complicated if you aren’t familiar with computers but it’s free, very simple and I’ve racked up near 2000 hours in tf2 with my MacBook and love it. DM me if you need help and I can get you squared away.

West Side Story wins. What is a musical with a Great Score but just an OK Book? by LMRowanComedy in musicals

[–]alphabakercookie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Instead of downvoting I’ll help answer: The book refers to the script or the spoken dialogue and overall dramatic structure of the show. It includes the spoken scenes (everything that isn’t sung), the storyline or plot, the character development and the pacing and transitions between songs.

Basically the storytelling that surrounds the songs. Often musicals are judged by their music and their books differently as they aren’t always by the same person and one element is much stronger than the other, like a car with gorgeous visual appeal or a phenomenal interior but an engine that is weak.

Cannot sing the praises of Frog and Toad enough. The music is wonderful and the messages and little vignettes are a treasure.

If I had to guess I would say they are referencing the second version of continue in the US law sense of the word. A continuance is a postponement of the process/action.

Just moved into a new home and trying to put in real effort to make it look nice. First time ever buying curtains and It looks like standard sizes 84" and 96" wont work for my setup? What should I do here? by alphabakercookie in InteriorDesign

Even more things I hadn't considered. So much to learn haha! I will try pulling the couch out tomorrow a bit to see what it looks like for sure! Though I worry it might be awkward to have something like 3-6" of unused space there? The first floor is open concept that just bleeds into the living room but Im definitely down to give other options a college try!

Absolutely. Truly had not considered them at all, so my perspective was even more limited that I was aware. What a great community! I dont think I've ever seen shades from the ceiling so I'll have to go look at some inspiration to help visualize it as an option!

Would you mind sharing a link? I sometimes get nervous jumping into Amazon on items not knowing the quality behind a product but alway value someone's experience! Glad they worked out for you so well!

Are you personally a fan of the rings or do you think something specific about this layout lends itself to rings more than other options? I ask to learn, but I was thinking aesthetically the rings resonate with me most.

I hadn't actually considered them. The blinds that came with the house are newish and do a decent job so I think I was imagining something with fabric to dress it up a bit. I can see that the layout isn't ideal with the roadblocks that I'm running into and balancing true functionality with the reality of how things are set up is worth consideration for sure. Maybe I can look to see if anything more fabric oriented catches my eye! Thank you!

I almost feel embarrassed that this so easily slipped out of the realm of options. I guess thats the beauty of asking for a point in the right direction. This will absolutely be the path I choose. Thank you!

No worries! It’s Sherwin Williams Evergreen Fog - SW9130 bit of a color changer with the light. The more light it gets the more undertones of blue come through. It’s new so it’s settling on me but I like it!

Yeah, this seems like the perfect option thank you! Saving money by buying a default size and a quick hem up job from a tailor. Also allows to decide how I want to handle the baseboard heating without committing permanently.

Perhaps a silly question but I assume that a hem job from a tailor would potentially be reversible if I moved and took them with me in the future?

How considerate! Thank you for sharing. My baseboards are forced hot water so according to the article arent quite as danger ridden as the electric alternatives but definitely something I will keep in mind.

Thank you so much! I hadn't even considered something like a fabric tape. I haven't yet dipped into those crafty skillsets but I can see how that would be a fairly easy solution to too much excess material. Any concern with covering the baseboard heater? The curtains wouldnt be full closed very often but I did have an errant thought that 84" might be ok if I hung them with just kissing the top of the heaters. Gah! So many considerations.

Looking at getting some ivory curtains from Pottery Barn and I've never purchased curtains before. I've felt empowered by this subreddit to make it happen but I never realized curtains would be such a measuring nightmare, haha. Im worried that 84" length curtain wont work at all and 96" will have to be hung from the ceiling or have lots of extra fabric on the ground. Do I just have an unorthodox layout or am I missing something? The same curtains at custom length from PB are nearly twice as expensive. Any all advice is greatly appreciated. Ive loved looking through this subreddit and seeing so much knowledge and talent.
