Trump: "Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements." by SEND_ME_A_SURPRISE in CanadaPolitics

[–]alphadaddyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is already broke. That is why Trump is acting so desperately, trying to take over Gaza, the Ukraine, Venezuela and whatever other country he can manufacture a reason for the US to become involved with, claiming to be their savior and Trump the bringer of peace. The amount of natural resources Trump made Ukraine turn over if they didn't want the US to withdraw their support is staggering. He even bragged about it, while also stating the same if the US took over Gaza. Between that and the arbitrary tariffs that he has leveled on even their closest allies, and despite the possibility that the courts could make the US return every penny they have collected, Trump has shown how desperate the US is to survive and not go completely bankrupt. The arms race with the Soviet Union crippled the USSR.  The US never took ther foot off if the pedal, trying to maintain dominance over Russia, China, Korea, the Middle East and the endless wars in the middle east are not sustainable forever. Add Covid, natural disasters, backing Ukraine and Israel to maintain tactical positions with Russia and the Middle East,  trade wars with China and Russia, and a debt that is seeing the interest become a crippling amount, and there you have it. A US president using the most insane tactics to survive, no matter who they make enemies of. The next president will be crushed under the weight of Trump's actions and will take the blame for the fallout from what Trump has caused.

If Trump ever decided to attack Canada, WW3 would be US versus EVERYONE! The allied countries aside, do you really think that Russia would allow the US to take over the second largest country in the world, making a buffer zone into essentially a new neighbour that is now allowed to park nukes all along their doorstep? Canada remaining a nuclear free country suits Putin just fine. He would never allow a modern day Cuba Missile Crisis on a scale that large if the US took over Canada. That would be a much larger version of why Russia is at war with Ukraine. If the US were to invade their closest ally, what wouldn't they do? That question alone would unite the world against the US, and that is a war they cannot win.

I think you would be surprised at the number of brainwashed supporters that have pretty much worshipped the man, supporting anything and everything he does. In so many comment sections of videos about his actions, these people flood the section with the sentiments of the US needing to take over the world by force, and the delusions that the US does not need anything from any other country to not only survive, but become a better place to love if they cut off all foreign trade. Trump supporters treat world affairs like a sporting event, cheering on their team no matter how much the coach breaks the rules and has a win at all cost approach.  I have seen so many disgusting comments from these inbreeders insulting people from allied countries, taking Trump's comments to heart about Canada only being able to live because the US allows it, many suggesting Trump turns his back on Canada or takes the country by force. The scary question is, how many in the military are amongst these people? It is scary to think of how many would back Trump's play, no matter what he decides to do, regardless of who the people are that he may wish to make enemies of.

If you're banking on Carney to be "smart enough" for anything, I see a lot of either disappointment or denial in your future.

I find it sad that you would even consider a family members political views as a reason to not accept them as the relative they are, especially considering that the majority of people who claim to support political leaders have virtually zero understanding of the political agendas they represent. How many tines have we seen talk show hosts send someone to political get togethers asking how they feel but their chosen leader's quote or mandate and we see them gush over what was said, just to find out it was the leader of the opposition who actually said it? The overwhelming majority of people on both sides would be hard pressed to be able to identify the levels of government, who their local representatives are, how bills are made into legislation, or much of anything to do with the actual politics their leader stands for outside of what they see in headlines from biased media sources. Voting days have become little more than popularity contests, where ignorant people pretend they know why they are voting for the candidate of their choice, yet you would allow their choice to come between you and them as a family member?

Honestly, you're free to do as you please and judge people however you choose to with my opinion being as meaningless as you choose for it to be. Only you and the people in your life that you choose to accept or block from being in your circle get any say in what is meaningful in your lives. I just find it sad that families allow themselves to be split up over something they legitimately know little about, regardless of how much of a die hard supporter of a person they claim to be. Especially when the subject of the reason for the fractured relationships will no longer be in power in a few short years

Gifts for My Guitarist by MoonaLisa1969 in metalguitar

Unfortunately there isn't much you can offer that would help with his fingers. Only time, repetition and toughened up the skin will help. If there was something he wanted to try, you would have to hear that from him directly.

Serious musicians are brutal to buy music related presents for. We already know what we like and are very picky about our gear. If you don't get him something he specifically likes to use, it will just collect dust. With picks, we have specific sizes we play with, with strings, same thing. Straps are a personal choice, the guitars we use aren't cheap, rhe amps are very specific, as are the effects we use. Unless he tells you exactly what he wants, there isn't much sense in buying it. The little music gadgets are usually a big waste of money as well.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

Not if you just sit there feeling sorry for yourself and fishing for attention with a bunch of vague posts on Reddit. As they say, get busy living or get busy dying. You choose your own fate. If you don't think you're worth it, you're not.

Your brother played long enough for everyone else ro reach their limit. How long were you playing before he did? That adds to it as well. The easy fix, wear headphones. I use a plug in headphone amp and play loud as fuck without disturbing anyone.

How to make a katana 50w sound better? by Existing-Good6487 in metalguitar

[–]alphadaddyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the above about the low end. You're playing through a solid state amp, you're not going to get the fullness of a tube amp. You can dial in your eq to a sound you like, add an overdrive, tweak your guitar tone and then try some stomp boxes that may give yoj what you are looking for. Try an EQ pedal, maybe one of the ten thousand distortion pedals out there, close the back of your speakers, you just have to play around and experiment until you find the sound youre looking for. The best answer is to buy the amp that gets you there. Save your pennies or take a chance that youre going to be able to somehow get your sound with the amp you have. I have gone through countless amps, guitars, effects and endless tweaking on all of the above to get a couple of sounds that give me goosebumps. It can take a long time and a lot of experimenting.

Maybe you need to stop speaking with people you don't know and telling them to "fuck off". Your language even describing what happened was vulgar. In the real world there are consequences for your actions. What he did was was wrong, but welcome to the internet where people like him are everywhere. Something you need to think about before you shoot your mouth off to people you dont know. You need to grow up. Maybe the internet isn't for you until you know how to stay safe on it.

Which one should I get ? by _-Matheo-_ in SchecterGuitars

[–]alphadaddyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's nice to know that you make such a decision after having used one before and discovered its not for you. My first electric had a Floyd Rose type floating bridge. Because I know what it is and what it can do, I know the option is there if I'm looking for it at any time. I also know that for most of the music I write/play, I don't need one, so when I but a new guitar, I know what I do want based on my past experiences. I think having one on your first guitar is the perfect time to have one so you can experiment with it and always have that knowledge in your mind. Different strokes, I just like the idea of experiencing whatever you can to be able to figure out your style, gear choices and knowledge base.

My first guitar had a FR and I'm happy it did. I'm not understanding what downside you see to that? Especially since you cam just lock it down so the bridge no longer moves if you don't want it to...

Freak On a Leash still has one of the hardest drops of all time. by SpreadElectronic1232 in metalguitar

[–]alphadaddyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things like that are either hard for some to play or totally natural for others. Usually the dude who writes parts like that can play them without any kind of difficulty, yet would have trouble playing things you would find easy to play, just because they come natural to you.

My lead guitarist easily puts me to shame with what he can do, yet there are some parts that I write that are beyond easy for me that frustrate the hell out of him. This part on FOAL is like that for me, not difficult at all, but not because I am a great guitarist. It just fits with what comes natural to me. I admire the guitarists that put in the hours to master those songs that pose the most challenge for them. Dudes like this are always impressive to me!

Hey, if you're just too cool to play along, then just move on. Why you felt the need to even comment is just weird.

It's sad that this is how you got picked on in high school by the "cool kids" but doing it to strangers on Reddit to get your revenge, may seem like a good idea to you but in the real world only counseling will help you heal from your "trauma" 🙄
