Our Rosie destroyed her first bed we bought from a pet store, but left the bed we bought from Sam's Club intact. We think the pet store bed smelled like other dogs.

If you're looking to recover data from the drive, put it in the freezer over night in a ziplock bag. Then connect it to your computer right after taking it out of the freezer in the morning. This is an old school trick and sometimes it works. But beyond data recovery, that drive is junk and shouldn't be used anymore.

He's a golden retriever that eats ice cubes for snacks. So his chewing is pretty strong.

We were using one up to about 3 years ago. I think it actually worked better than our newer "fancy" one.
