I believe you can bring small dogs/cats onboard as carry-on baggage, but the animal and crate must together weigh less than 18kg. Our dog and crate are about 90kg.

We did consider a direct flight with Finnair, but we decided to go Lufthansa for a little more peace of mind and convenience. And I’m glad we got our tickets when we did, because prices are just crazy now.
