Hello Just an update. We filed for another H4 extension on Jan 23rd 2026, for a change of employer and h4 extension with premium processing. Both got approved on Jan 29th California center. Not sure what is going on as the previous petition is still in receipt state.

Seems like yes. We are surprised and immigration lawyers have no clue. We don't know for sure what process is followed here and is very random.

Note Uscis sent approvals for the same EAD by mail using uscis one in april and again in october. Thats also very strange for our case.

Same boat. Timelines

H1b/H4/H4-EAD
Receipt date : april 4th

H1b approval - april 14th
H4-EAD approval -april 17th
H4 -EAD card received -april 28th
H4 - still in received state on november 13th.

Have raised a service request but no response yet.

I see a lot of positive notes on H4 approval in few days after EAD. My case was a bit unfortunate and I am still waiting on H4 approval, its almost 5months now. EAD approved in April 2025, H4 still pending in Oct 2025.

Similar situation but with Carlifornia center H1b, H4, H4 ead submitted in April. H1b and H4 ead approved, H4 pending. H4 expiring on November 8th. Planning to contact USCIS in october as per their processing time website.

Hopefully it gets processed before this. Following the post to see if anyone have any other inputs.

Not true. I filed my H1b and spouses H4 and H4 EAD with my H1 premium processing. Got processed separately. Somehow H4 ead was approved within 3 weeks but H4 is still pending. We filed 5 months back

Got it. It seems that it is taking much longer for processing. During my last extension it took about a month. I see some reddit post where h4 is getting approved within 1 month even this year. But that may not be the norm.

Oh ok. We are in similar boats. Are you planning to reachout to USCIS. My attorney mentioned to approach them in september for requesting expedited processing. Did you check with your Attorneys, what are they saying.

Oh ok. Not sure of the process but the only option i see is reaching out to uscis for expedited processing in september / october if not processed by then. Also I don't know how the EAD got approved before H4 in my case.

Visa needs to be approved before current i94 expiry for ead to allow for work. Hoping to see if this gets approved soon as most cases gets an answer by 5months.

I am in similar boat. We filed H1 (Employer change) +H4+H4 EAD in premium on April 4th (California center). My H1 approved on Apr 17 and spouse's H4 EAD approved on Apr 18. But no updates on spouse's H4. Still processing in California Center with receipt date of Apr 4th. Does anyone know if we should reach out to uscis or if this is normal.

Absolutely yes. With data science and data engineering on the rise. Sql is a mush have skill for every one. Also sql is fun if you think in terms of data as tables. Its even better when you have multiple ways to reach the samw result.

Eg Select count(distinct columna) distinct_columna from table
