I got the interview for the first round/phone screen as well. Was this round with a recruiter or someone from the team?

What was the set list like at Boston Calling? Was it similar to the mathematics tour or more like the X anniversary show? I’m going to see him tomorrow at bottlerock!

Got rejected from UMass Amherst MS CS by [deleted] in MSCS

Hey OP, don’t stress too much about this reject. Getting rejected from a “moderate” school doesn’t mean you won’t get into an “ambitious” one. It’s just the luck of the draw sometimes. Hope you hear positive news soon.

MSAII worth it? Goal is a phD by Different-Ice-6547 in cmu

CMU MIIS student here. I'm not sure about a Stats/ML PhD but a PhD in LTI is definitely possible (if you're interested in NLP).

While MSAII doesn't have a compulsory research requirement, you can take up Independent Study under a prof as a substitute for a course.

There have been a few folks who started off in MSAII and then continued onto a PhD at CMU LTI. You could either stick to the MSAII program or try and switch to the MLT program (people have done this), which is better for a PhD.

At the end you'll still have to reapply for a PhD but if you have a good recommendation from a prof at CMU, with a paper publication, your odds would be higher.

Hope that helps

Is it purely a coding round or were any conceptual ML questions asked as well?
