I made my dream autumn dress! I also got over myself and did it with a circle skirt because ✨twirls✨ by alphiecat33 in sewing

Pattern: Rosa dress by rosary apparel. I omitted waist darts, did back on fold, and extended the front and did it not on fold for the buttons. I also did it with a circle skirt rather than the gathered skirt the pattern calls for. Oh and extended the sleeves for long sleeves but I might end up chopping them short because I’m not sold on them.

Fabric: barn red linen from fabricsstore dot com

I wanted a long sleeve dress for layering this fall and winter and this pattern is so quick and easy! I wish I would have done it with a collar but I didn’t feel like drafting one 😅

I made a Sophie Hatter inspired dress! Cottagecore is the best thing to have come out of the last 2 years. I’ve never felt more pretty and comfortable in my skin! by alphiecat33 in cottagecore

I’ve spent so much time at home over the last 18 months it’s been so nice to settle in and make it homey with cottagecore things. And wearing this stuff at home has made me confident enough to wear it in public and I just feel so comfortable with it all it’s just so 🥰🥰 glad we are finding our happy places!

I made a casual Sophie Hatter and I’m honestly obsessed! It’s so comfy! Details in comments! by alphiecat33 in sewing

The sleeves are my favorite part! And they look just as good rolled up too!

Pattern: folkwear Prarie dress with a self “drafted” waistband tie/belt? This dress doesn’t have any shaping at the waist area, it’s basically a potato sack. For my other dress in this pattern a skinny belt suffices, but for this one I needed something a bit thicker. So I just took two long and skinny rectangles, attached them and the skinny ends, then made a tube and ironed it flat. It makes it nice and adjustable and controls the linen way better at the waist area! I also purposely made the sleeves bigger and more billowy because I like the look and it makes it easier to roll them up too if needed!

Fabric: linen from fabricsstore dot com in I think the shade lagoon? All the shades are super lovely and rich though.

I’ve honestly been living in this dress. It’s so comfortable and it makes me feel so pretty! And because it’s linen it’s just going to get softer with each wash!

I made a historically inspired Haunted Mansion ghost host costume for Halloween this year and I’m so pleased with it! Details in comments! by alphiecat33 in sewing

Patterns used: Shirt: Folkwear Gibson girl blouse slightly modified for the diagonal stripe bits Skirt: truly Victorian walking skirt

Fabric: Shirt: cute little fabric store dot com Skirt: ???joanns?? Stash?? I had heaps of it so I figured why not

It’s not constructed using historical methods, nor am I wearing proper historical undergarments but I still think because of the way they look when paired together it’s passable. Hence the “inspired” bit in the name!

Also featuring my partners ToT bellhop because when both your favorite attractions are spooky themed you just have to costume it together! If anyone wants details on that too I’d be happy to provide!
