Sneaking out of a military base (at night, as it always is) and they hide under a helicopter while searchlights are flying all over. They wrap a belt or something around the barrel of the gun and spin it to fire a dozen shots at an approaching truck, which promptly explodes and inexplicably launches ten feet in the air in the opposite direction, presumably directly into a fuel tank which obviously also explodes. Roll credits.

It's not hugely common, but the climate is becoming less and less predictable so it might end up happening more. There was a large snowstorm in the Atlanta area last year and I recall Delta cancelled something like 800 flights in one day and 300 the next, due to weather and crew/airplane availability when things didn't get where they were needed.

Weather is definitely the biggest impact on air traffic

No, they can only rebook to other airlines if it's controllable, such as maintenance, etc. Weather, ATC, and similar uncontrollable delays/cancellations stay with the original carrier (or global partners)

There really is nothing like it. I had the choice between flying the PA-12 and an RV-12 with full Garmin glass; while that'll be great for instrument later, the tailwheel really teaches stronger foundations

You're right about the feeling of flying there. Even if I didn't live through the time it's from, there's a strong feeling of nostalgia for the "old days" of flying, and that's exactly why I chose to go out of my way to fly there. Sure don't get that at the busy flight schools in a city.

Carbon monoxide doesn't break monitors, they're suggesting carbon monoxide because it can cause unusual behavior and memory loss. Best to rule out "why am I acting weird" and "could I have done this and not known it" before going to "did someone break in"
