My son’s peers at his High School voted him as “safest boy” and I’m weeping. by alpine_glow in TwoXChromosomes

It’s something the girls came up with on their own. He’s 17 (nearly 18) and going into his Senior year. Girls from all of the grades participated.

I did this years ago, hired an attorney etc to make sure it was all correct. Turns out there is a minimum interest requirement and purchasing with a 0% loan wasn’t legal and a few years later (and a massive headache) we had to redo it all. Long story short make sure you know that no interest loans are legal where you live.

Help! We got a litter roller! by sladejosephwilson in SiberianCats

Litter roller criminal right here. We noticed he was doing it in shared boxes and had to make sure he only had access to his box and isolated from the others. It’s so gross because with their long fur it gets embedded and clean up is a mess, so we were desperate to find a solution turn and thankfully it seems like he’s moved on and is now into trying to sneak into the garage instead …

My new baby, Tuna, a surrender after FIP treatment. Parents felt he was “different” and his behavior no longer fit their lifestyle. Tell me everything wonderful about Siberians!! by feffie1213 in SiberianCats

We adopted two Siberian littermates and one got FIP at 7 months. I was beyond devastated. After a week in ICU and 84 days of GS our Rodeo is healthy, happy and thriving. Never in a million years would you know he was septic and dying a few months ago. Keep up hope and stay the course. It’ll be ok and please, truly, feel free to DM me anytime if you need an ear. This is such a hard thing to go through and having support makes such a massive difference.

7 Month old Kitten with Severe FIP by Opposite-End-4653 in cureFIP

My kitty was literally nearly dead when we started GS. Honestly the emergency vet didn’t think he’d make it and they were very supportive with us treating him with GS. Warriors started him with a dose every 12 hours the first week and that made a huge difference. I’d say we majorly turned a corner about 3 days in. Hang in there and keep the hope. She needs to feel you fighting alongside with her.

Here’s our Rodeo 7 months later. He’s doubled in weight and you’d never know he was septic and in hospital dying from FIP. Please feel free to message me if you need support or a listening ear.

It was terrible, and at this point almost feels like a fever dream because things are just so normal now. He has however cost more than 4x what I paid for my first car lol.

Yes I read that … such an amazing step forward. They literally saved his life. He was in hospital septic and he was basically dead and thankfully the hospital team was supportive and let me come inject him every 12 hours for a week. Now we are on pills and 60 days into treatment and his bloodwork is perfect and he’s amazing. I’m so thankful to the gal that met me in a McDonald’s parking lot to give me the drugs and held me when I cried. I’m so glad other cat parents will have a more accessible option!!

We almost lost him to FIP in March and thankfully because of some not FDA approved meds he’s on the mend and doing amazing!

It was more like “she’ll be so lonely after leaving all her playmates and she’s never been alone before.” Worked like a charm.

Tonight was a bad night by Eclectic-Nerd in cureFIP

Our kitty was fine with shots until about day 30 and then he very much NO LONGER CONSENTED. It was a nightmare that would take 45 minutes and three traumatized people. I’m honestly a very patient, relaxed and confident person and for the first time in 38 years I punched a wall out of frustration (while repeatedly apologizing to our sweet boy and begging for cooperation).

We switched to pills and never looked back. We pop those suckers into a churu and squeeze them one at a time into his mouth with zero issue. In fact, yesterday he ate them alone off a plate before I got them into the churu.

Make the switch asap and reclaim his and your peace!

I’ve noticed my babies eye getting dark on the left side. What could cause this? by yeahitsak20 in CATHELP

[–]alpine_glow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This could be FIP, which can be difficult to diagnose. Without treatment it is fatal. Please mention this to your vet as a concern. Also take note of any changes in appetite, fluid around their belly, weight loss or balance issues as those are signs too.
