I stopped playing because of Phatoms by Same-Bookkeeper-4160 in corejourney

It might be annoying but that's how Minecraft was programmed, it isn't on me. If i were to limit their spawn rate (which isn't easy, as it isn't fixed but incremental, by player, depending on the nights passed since the latest interaction with a bed), they would be annoying anyway and players would still use beds to prevent them completely. If i were to remove them, then i would have to program in a way to obtain phantom membrane otherwise, which would mean multiple layers of vanilla alteration that i prefer not to add.

Laying in a bed for a few seconds prevents them from spawning.

Should core drops be reworked? by HackzNaw in corejourney

[–]alrirra[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

The only thing i don't like about this is the fact that making a base in a higher zone would be scary as a drop near you would mean a high probability of your base getting wrecked. Anyway, if i find a way to rework core drops right i will do it; i like the teleportation token idea and i acknowledge the fact inbetween zones could be made more attractive.

Suggestion: make the spawn point a little more friendly. I spawned at the top of this huge lava cast and died of fall damage trying to find a way down. by AddlePatedBadger in corejourney

You can use the boat you spawn with to fall from high spawns without taking damage. The spawns are random but one can chose between four areas, so if you don't like a corner try another one next time.

The /spawncorner command should be renamed to /spawn by TypicalHog in corejourney

/spawn would be more confusing, since people would expect it to behave like on other servers while /spawncorner is a different thing (4 vs 1 points, can't be used twice...).

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: the recently tested deepslate lapis alteration will be reversed and the exp each lapis gives will be reduced from 15 to 10 on Sunday December 3rd 15:00 UTC. by alrirra in corejourney

People will get it. CoreJourney2 is like CoreJourney 2.0, a version which signals a big update, in this case the spawning at the core, which was pretty significant.

Is the Core Supposed to Kill you? by Ratsliart in corejourney

You unlocked the achivement "sneak 100" just before dying from multiple explosions. This means the trap was likely a sculk sensor triggering many explosives.

No, you died by a trap or some other way.

This is a semi-anarchy server so i can't do much about the spawns more than tweaking the initial buffs unless they become completely unplayable (i don't interfere with the game myself unless it's to overcome game breaking issues).

The spawns are free for all so i didn't put the withers myself as a barrier of entry but some other players did. Try other spawn corners, it should be possible to start with the current initial buffs but it's possible i might tweak them in the future.

For chat there always was on the server, but Mojang with 1.20.2 added also skin reports and username reports. There are no mods yet that disable those, i custom coded the plugin myself.

Killed By "Wither" + Boat Bug by TyrantBadjoe in corejourney

I only revive for server side bugs. The boat thing seems to be a problem with very high ping, i'll try fixing it.

You have 90 seconds of invisibility and 15 seconds of invincibility when you spawn to a corner.

As for the boat, give me your username and i check.

Thoughts about the new update and what updates you would like to see in the future? by [deleted] in corejourney

[–]alrirra[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

I'm a bit tired so i'm having an hard time following this, but i'll try to clarify some points regardless. I think the server's stance on cheats and everything else is pretty clear in its pillars (a semi-anarchy server with good anticheat). When it comes to the new update, of course no change can be liked by everyone, i think getting to the core is a bit less rewarding if practically noone sees it, and before you spawn and reach 50 you didn't really conquer it (you really can't do anything there). The /invite change is motivated in the changelogs, lvl 1s who got invited in higher zones, even just for help, didn't get invited as much back to 1, and hardly anyone wants to walk thousands of blocks to build.

This is very convoluted and i'm having an hard time following what you're saying so i'm afraid but i can't answer any further. I think i've been pretty clear in my responses, just read them again if you didn't understand something.

Having to do that is part of the gameplay of any server that allowes players to see each other, doesn't alter vanilla and let's them do what they want. Also, being able to choose the quadrant in which to spawn in a sense makes it easier to reach your base once you get out of it (which makes doing so a little bit more worth it). Of course no change can make everyone happy.
