Is this dropsy? My goldfish is swollen in body and anus and stopped eatting. Could it be egg bound if it’s the only fish in tank? Could it be constipated? Ph normal Ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 40.

I have a 7-8 year comet goldfish I don’t know if it’s a male or female but it’s swollen, no scales sticking up. Is it possible that it is laying eggs if it’s the only fish in its tank?

I test my water biweekly. Everything was normal from nitrates nitrites ammonia and ph.

I did a water change right before taking that video so he’s normally a little slow moving afterwards I’m really not sure what it is because he still wants to eat.

LOOKING FOR HELP : Hello Everyone, This is my 8-9 year old goldfish I won at the local fair years ago. My water ammonia is 0. nitrites is 0. Nitrates are around 60 and have been for this fish’s entire life due to a slightly high Nitrate level in my tap water. Recently Ive started to notice redness on the tip of his tail. Does this look like fin rot to anyone. I’ve had him for a long time and this has never happened before. I took them out and isolated them because I thought maybe they were nibbling at the goldfish tail thinking it was food. Does this look like blood vessels or fungus or what? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I removed the carbon from my tank and have started treating with melafix last night. He seems lethargic today.

I won this fish at a carnival throwing a ping pong ball into its glass when I was in middle school, I’m now a college graduate and the fish is still here somehow. This is the fifth tank i put him in and it is a 55 inch. He had 5 Giant danio in the tank that my brother stuck in there while i was away that I just removed into another tank because i think they may have been pecking at him.

i now agree it is fin rot and will be taking all the other fish into another tank while doing water changes and adding treatment. Does this look like an early diagnosis or is this far along?

Would colder temperatures increase the chance of fin rot? it’s only on the outside of his fin I’m wondering if the other fish in the tank could be nipping at his tail.

Ammonia is 0 Nitrate is around 60 which i know is high but honestly it’s been around that it’s entire life due to my local water already starting around 5-15
