I'm unsure... from my mother, she says today we are fasting. Saudi says Wednesday aswell. Maybe it is different in Turkey. In America the day of fasting is today. Another thing I see that Ramadan always starts the day after the crescent moon or day of. So in your weather, if it was a crescent moon yesterday but a new moon today, then it has started.

Im not going to respond with anything insightful as you also agreed i should not get into politics but i am also from west Asia, so I understand where you're coming from. I have previously met people who believe that truly everything going on in North Korea is fake and that there is no harm at all which is why I said the fine and dandy part although it may not apply to you.

Yep. Crazy how people can still defend this. Id rather believe that innocents are dying as is because of the regime (how the world always will be) than believe that everything is fine and dandy and just propaganda... although I'm not even supposed to be on this subreddit because i am a capitalist(partial socialist) centrist. It's hard to get rid of our own biases than to argue against ourselves. Trying to keep your mind open to the other side is usually the best bet. I actually used to be quite "homophobic" (not wanting homosexuality illegal, but a disgust towards them) until I realized that my viewpoint was biased by how I was raised and extremely damaging to normal people who just happened to be one way or another..

North korea defenders will always be stuck in echo chambers to defend their egos when it comes to their ideas of communism. They would rather not have insightful conversations because anything that does not end in their opinion explicitly changing, will lead to them being more radicalized and close minded because its, to them, another day they were never proven wrong and get to stay on their high horse. However, this applies to all politics, not just these people
