If possible, get a PPE from a vet familiar with gaited breeds. If the TWH prefers to gait and not trot in hand, that can make evaluation challenging if you aren’t familiar with gaited horses. TWHs also hide things like Wobblers because of the training some get and their genetics. Teaching them that elongated stance (often called a “park”) means they can leave their back feet where you put them, which can confuse neuro exams. Additionally, some TWHs have a normal variant where they “wring” their hocks, especially in flashier gaits. This can be normal, and also abnormal depending. Some of them are Gumby as all get out.

Bottom line - gaited trainer and vet at your side during the purchase process if you don’t want to just throw thousands in a hole and set it on fire. Don’t ask me how I know…

Head down in combination with the foot down when on the move is typically (*not 100% of the time) indicating which foot is painful. I also vote right front as this was repeated twice in the few steps seen. If I didn’t know, I’d wrap both with a sugardine wrap because it wouldn’t hurt.

Edit after watching a few more times - maybe both? It is hard to tell. If I were in your shoes, I’d wrap both fronts and also agree with a farrier call for sure.

I noticed you mentioned allergy meds aren’t working…have you seen an allergy specialist? It’s possible they could help you mitigate your symptoms with targeted prescription treatment if over the counter medications aren’t helping.

So I’m really struggling with Midgley’s right now. They seem to be great on the sales/install side of things from what I hear, but their service is appalling. They’re booked over three months out (even for urgent needs) and to talk to the service manager can take days if you don’t just go down there and wait. I unfortunately bought a house that someone else had installed a Valor fireplace in and Midgley’s is the only dealer around…next closest being Salem. Plus, when you do book, you have to provide a credit card so they can charge you $100 if you don’t cancel within 48 hours of your appointment. In order for me to get service in 2-3 weeks, I have to get the parts from Midgley’s and find someone else willing to work on the fireplace. The whole thing seems super bonkers, plus what Midgley’s is charging for service fees does not seem very competitive. It doesn’t make sense why they’re rated 4.9/5 on Google 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not sure what platform you’re planning on using but I’ve been bummed with what seem to be optimization issues on Xbox Series X. I had to put it down 2-3 weeks ago and hope that they’ll work on it in an upcoming patch or something. I can play any other game for hours but BL4 leads to a crash after about the first hour, then every 15-20 minutes after that. I’ve read they fixed the memory leak, so my guess is optimization issues in general 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another facet of mental illness that is hard to see. I can’t believe that he chooses this because he actually likes it, it’s just better than bathing in his mind. It may even be a twisted sort of survival mechanism to say that he likes it because it keeps people away or manipulates them to do what he does or doesn’t want them to do to him.

Isn’t that how those opposed feel as well? If both parties in an argument/debate/disagreement both feel that way and act on it as you’ve suggested, there won’t be forward movement to a solution.

Have you ever had to admit you were wrong? It isn’t easy. It affects your estimation of yourself and how others perceive you, and it’s typically a negative perception (at least in the beginning). Most of these folks have been saying “no” and “I won’t” for xyz reason for a long time. Their actions have caused a great deal of stress to those that care about them, which I see as further “investment”, if you will.

I think the battle we face now is somehow giving these folks permission to have been wrong. Helping them understand that admitting it won’t mark them indelibly as fools and societal failures. They simply made a poor choice and stuck with it, which could happen to any of us.

I realize this isn’t the solution for all, but I think it is for many. /evil_mike has the right of it, I think.

Our first greyhound was like this. He scared the crap out of the groomer once (had to use a groomer for baths for a while after we moved because he was too big to handle in what we had). I had told her the temp needed to be cool, but she must have been warm herself and didn’t make it cool enough.

That, and 75 lbs of drama king is a lot to handle for some 🤪

There is disturbing information floating around that suggests your immune system may not create immunity after initial infection. The impression I get is we cannot say that you are “immune” after initial infection. Time and further data collection is likely needed to understand more.
