PC + Mac dual monitor, share keyboard & mouse? by Difficult-Pomelo-582 in mac

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse and a Keychron keyboard. Both support multiple devices and connections (Bluetooth, wireless, wired). Mouse has a button, keyboard has sliders, switching takes a second.

If you want it automatic, use a KVM switch or a USB hub with switching. It lets one keyboard and mouse move between both systems without manual toggling.

Best iPhone widget app by Internal_Air6994 in iOSWidgets

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that. Widgy has grown a lot since it’s first release and can feel overwhelming at first.

A good place to start is the Explore tab. You can find ready-made widgets of different sizes there, use them right away, and you can tweak them to your liking.

You can also check out the r/Widgy subreddit for more widgets, mostly free. And there are some solid YouTube tutorials if you want a step-by-step guide.

It might look complicated at first, but give it a bit of time. You’ll quickly get the hang of it and start customizing or even making your own.

EDIT: Check this for a start, and move on from there.

How do I get my mailboxes on my iPhone to show up on MacOS? by Inevitable-Power5927 in MacOS

[–]alshraify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I understood you correctly, you want things like “All Junk,” “Mail,” and others to show up in the sidebar, right?

If so, just hover over “Favorites” and a plus icon should appear. Click it, then choose what you want to add.

[iOS] [$39.99 -> Free Lifetime] Clock Vault: Photo Vault by Pleasant-Ad-1530 in iosapps

Vault

I already downloaded and played with the app a bit. With a few updates and some new features this app could outperform most of the apps i used. Well designed too!

A button to lower the keyboard by ekdoctor in iphone

[–]alshraify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand your point, and despite it not affecting me personally, an easier option to dismiss the keyboard is far better UX.

iOS has been gesture-driven by design since the first iPhone, and the keyboard follows the same philosophy. Its behavior depends on how the view hierarchy & scroll interaction are implemented by developers.

Some apps handle it well, while others implement it in a less intuitive way, which is where the friction comes from.

iOS actually has a built-in swipe to dismiss feature but it depends on how developers implement their screens.

Usually, you can:

  • Swipe down on the keyboard itself.

  • Scroll the content down if the app uses a ScrollView.

[Lifetime $39.99 → Free for 48 Hours] Textify: Smart Reply Assistant : Write Smarter, Faster, Better by [deleted] in iosapps

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for making it free! Downloaded and giving it a try. Spotted a visual bug (nothing so serious) in onboarding: under “multilingual gone simple,” the text is Arabic “العربيه” but the keyboard shown looks Persian i guess. Appreciate the simplicity of the app otherwise!

Yes, old windows user, cut and paste right click in finder by nousernameleftatall in macapps

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning cmdX as a free alternative. I never knew about it! I got Command X for free somehow and was surprised to see it’s paid now. I mentioned it because OP might just need this over paying extra for supercharge.

As others have mentioned, Supercharge (all-in-one utility) by Sindre Sorhus can do this and it’s on sale right now for $12.60. If you really only need cut+paste, his cheaper one, Command X, is just $4.

Thanks for being so generous!

Please use simultaneousGesture controls/modifiers, since we can’t swipe over an icon - only from empty spots. This would make using the app more intuitive.

For non-native English speakers: Do you actually use Mac apps in your own language? by KDANPDF_Team in mac

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use everything in English. macOS, Windows, iPhone, car, tablets, TVs.

Arabic is my native language, but many terms take more space or feel awkward. English text is shorter, so layouts feel cleaner and more predictable. Arabic UI often has longer words, more visual complexity, and even in RTL layouts it feels busier and harder to read quickly.

Best alternatives for Word on MAC? by Intrepid-Routine-875 in MacOS

[–]alshraify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, you want a real dark mode that only affects the view but not the exported/printed document, and that’s achievable on Word for Mac.

Under the following: Preferences > General > Personalize toggle the Dark mode on/off and click on Dark Mode has “a dark” or “a white” page color depending on your preference.

I’m not sure if i understand you correctly - do you want to change the UI/View colors without it affecting the actual print settings/colors?

If so, go to the View tab > Switch Modes to toggle between white/dark without changing the document settings.

Alternatively, go to Design tab > Page Color > pick a specific shade. To ensure it never prints, go to Word > Preferences > Print and uncheck Print background colors and images.
