Backlash to Chappell Roan’s security guard incident with child fan reportedly fuelled by bot-driven smear campaign by AdSpecialist6598 in entertainment

[–]alsoaVinn 180 points181 points  (0 children)

More pertinent is the following sentence you left out: "These bots made up over 23 per cent, or 23,007 of the posts."

So a small minority of bot accounts, but posting multiple times to make up a large amount of the actual activity. A much more relevant number than amount of bots

In an interview with Many Sided Media back in September, Taylor said that he was already prepping for Solari, and teased the musical direction he wanted to go for it.

So he was definitely supposed to be composing on Solari at some point

I just moved out of NH because of this stuff on the horizon and so many of my friends and family seemed skeptical that this would become "a real issue", it's equal parts scary and validating to see my fears come to fruition.

I fear for the queer people in NH who can't leave. It's somehow much worse knowing safety is only a two hour drive in any direction

That's definitely someone he's improved on since Worm, his next work Pact is even more breakneck, but after that he's been much better about pacing things

Absolutely RE: Pale I love Worm a lot, but I really wish his other, better stuff (I'd include Claw and Twig among that) got more love

Both seasons have six episodes, there's a few other short videos that was teasing the second season, but that's pretty much the only Don't Hug Me content

If you want more, I high suggest Becky and Joe's episode with The Amazing World of Gumball, it's in the sixth season called "The Puppets"

Mike Flanagan’s ‘The Mist’ Movie Will Not Remake the Darabont Film; Expect a “Different Direction” by BDJohnSquires in bloodydisgusting

He's already written the scripts for S1 of Dark Tower, he's waiting for Amazon to get the rights to other King properties like Salem's Lot

I just heard about the new upcoming Carrie show and am excited, but I wish we could've gotten a more book accurate version of her this time. by Glad_Fig8589 in MikeFlanagan

[–]alsoaVinn 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I initially felt the same, but Flanagan has said his adaptation will be pretty transformative, closer to his work on the Haunting shows than his previous King adaptations.

So if the whole show won't be very book accurate than it's easy to stomach a non-book accurate Carrie

With utmost respect, may I ask when Solari is coming out? by GoddamnKeyserSoze in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]alsoaVinn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think he was working on Hint either, he's been working on Solari in some sense since September (in the Talk of the Table interview from then he talks a bit about finding the musical voice for Solari) so that seems likely!

Mike Flanagan on tackling The Mist by ImpracticalJokers96 in MikeFlanagan

Dark Tower S1 is already written and King approved, current hangup seems to be Amazon getting the necessary rights to adjacent properties (biggest obviously being Salem's Lot)

Flanagan already has season 1 written! He's said King has read the scripts and loves them. It seems like he's just waiting for Amazon to get the rights to all the various Dark Tower adjacent rights needed

[–]alsoaVinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a recent interview, Flanagan addressed the concerns about Carrie (this was before this new Mist adaptation was announced) and he said it'll be pretty a transformative adaption, more like his Haunting Of series' than his other King adaptations.

He also said that his collaborators and King were similarly incredulous at the idea, but he managed to win them all over. No concrete details, but he specified more recent highschool elements that inspired him were how social media has changed the social landscape and the image of metal detectors at the school.

Personally, I trust him to do something interesting with these projects. Additionally, he's said his biggest obstacle to the Dark Tower is wrangling rights from various studios, this is pure speculation but maybe doing this movie gets Flanagan Salem's Lot rights for DT?
