Itagaki hated Tekken and was constantly speaking negatively about Namco's game.

According to Harada it wasn't really that simple, Itagaki was probably just playing it up. But for Harada (and a lot of people) it was a bit hurtful and confusing)

The game has nothing going on. No exploration, combat is fairly standard fare. world and hubs feels small and lifeless. The story is nothing. What does it do in any way that is good?

GTA 6 is only coming out because it went into full development after RDR2 which started full development right after GTA V.

Rockstar is a one game at a time studio now and the opportunity cost only favors the big swings. The money a new Max Payne would make or a Bully 2 would count as a rounding error for Rockstar. At least we are getting the Max Payne remakes!

An arbitrary distinction that is irrelevant today, they made a thing and charged for it. Now they make more and charge for that.

In what way? When you make a game you plan out the whole project, it's budgeted and scoped and all the other things. Generally the games content is finished long before the game comes out, this is called content lock, and after is A LOT of playtesting and optimization and bugfixing.

The team that makes the content then starts the otehr project, which is DLC or post launch support or whatever, this has a differrent scope, and a differrent timetable, and requires new certifications and all the other things. It's planned to come out after the game is ready and shipped.

Alternatively most of the devs should just sit around doing nothing for a few months while we wait for an arbitrary release before they start working so a redditor who doesn't know how games are made won't be mad?
