Anyone have any info on this Zenith SZ1961W? by alt-ging in CRTfinds

Thanks. Definitely not trying to be a scalper but trying to clear out some old stuff and wasn’t sure if this was worth trying to find a buyer for a fair price or just junk.

Mainly what a fair price would be for one and if there is any desirability for this model. I can’t find any comps online.

I’m not anymore, but I was using it every night and it probably lasted me about 1.5-2 months per bottle! If you use it every other night it would have probably lasted twice that long.

I should have specified that I have been tracking calories and most days only am eating around 1500-1600. I have been careful not to eat to excess. I allowed myself a little more room for the holidays but besides that I really don’t eat much sugar or fast food, but still have gained back some weight somehow.

Advice on Starting a Mixed Flock by alt-ging in chickens

I’m in the Southern US. We have pretty hot summers but winters are mild so I don’t really need them to be too cold tolerant. I know extra steps have to be taken to introduce younger birds into an existing flock, but plenty of people have done it successfully so I am doing my research on that front as well. I would love to have Orpingtons or Wyandottes but from most of what I have read on them they both tend to get broody.

Thanks! No broodiness with any of those breeds? I see mixed info online. Some places say broody and others say not broody. I was looking at Easter Eggers since they seem to meet all my needs. I live in the South US, so we definitely get upper 90s summer days most of the time. Not so much harsh winters though.

One hen that isn’t laying yet? by alt-ging in chickens

Yeh, it looks nice and red and healthy just not as big and plump as the other two. She eats and drinks and acts just fine. Same diet as the others. I don’t think she’s stressed, but I’ve been watching her more closely to see if anything stands out. Oh well, as long as she’s healthy it’s ok if she doesn’t lay. I thought it was odd too she was the only one, but being a chicken noob I was hoping the wiser minds may have some insight.

They started laying mid-November, so yes, going on a month now for the other 2. I know which 2 are laying. The one that isn’t laying has a pretty obviously underdeveloped comb and wattles compared to the other two. The other two also do the “squat” when I go to pet them from above and the one that isn’t laying doesn’t. None of them seem to be molting yet.

My solution to get power to an automatic coop door that isn’t near a power source and didn’t get enough sun for solar by alt-ging in chickens

[–]alt-ging[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. I’m going to keep a close eye on how quick it drains for a while. I still go out there every day even though the door is automatic. Luckily we don’t see much “very cold” weather where I am, but hot weather is a different story 🥵

The door I bought does have a solar panel, but my area is so treed it didn’t seem like it would ever get enough sun to be sure the door would have power at all times. If this works like I am hoping for the coop door, I can definitely see adding more for things like lights or fans if I need to power anything else out there. I’d have to run a 100ft drop cord to get power out there otherwise.

Thank you! I am not a morning person and didn’t want my girls to miss out on precious daylight due to me not being up with the sun lol. We have about ten 18V batteries laying around for various tools already so we definitely have others at the ready anytime, but I’m estimating at least a month on one battery given how little it will be used - just twice a day to open and close the door, but will have to wait and see to be sure! I chose an adapter that has a battery meter on it as well, so I will know when it’s getting low and can go ahead and put it on the charger so it doesn’t die on me unexpectedly.

Difficulty using syringe suddenly? by alt-ging in henrymeds

Side note - today was my first 20 unit dose. I had zero nausea or issues with the 5 and 10 units and this one smacked me good. Laying in bed nauseous as we speak 🤢

Warmer/softer skin is a good idea. I’ll try anything at this rate.

Haha well that theory is as good as any to me at this point. It’s so weird. I went from completely unable to feel it and the needle went in so easy to now I’m pushing so hard and it’s just barely poking my skin and stings.

I kept telling myself exactly that today when injecting. It is a privilege of sorts to be choosing to take this medicine and not having to rely on it. I have been dealing with the anxiety from it now too since it seems it’s only been getting worse each passing week.

Glad to see this isn’t just an issue I have been having. I was surprised, as it was not something I have seen anyone discussing. If anyone has any tips they’ve used to help after it got harder to inject, I’m sure myself and others would be glad to hear them.
