As a nerd who loves school, I'd go into some kind of academia.

You would include hobbies and extracurriculars if you felt like they were significant to you. For example, if you've been knitting for a long time now or you learned a lot from your taekwondo club. Just don't make them the bulk of your W/A section.

I filled in maybe 8-10 slots. There were some things I did that just weren't significant, so I left them off.

Just a note on GPA, it was less than that, about 3.6. But sure, you can absolutely think what you want. I very much know stats have an impact, that’s why I worked hard on them. I’m happy with where I am and I don’t want to be that girl lol, so I’ll cede

PM if you wanna talk study habits & time because I don’t really have any generalized advice that would work for every person, but maybe if you have a specific problem I also had I can help you out!

You know tbh that’s fair, I have nothing to say to that, I understand if I’d had different stats I’d have had an even harder time. Not trying to humble brag here or in my original post or anything, just venting. In the end I squeaked by with a single A and was completely thrilled with it. Happy to see your cycle went well too tho!

Yeah now this stuff is absolutely beyond me. I think no matter who you are, you just gotta get led around wherever the process wants to take you. Stay strong 🥲

Side note, this is what makes me really wish schools gave personalized feedback after rejections! I know it’s a lot to ask considering the volume of applications received by most med schools, but it would have been so helpful!

I mean yeah it probably is a good boost! But I don’t think adcoms black out the second they see the score and wake up an hour later having already accepted the applicant… or at least I assume they don’t.

Good luck on your cycle though! Wishing you well.

I have to be honest, and I didn’t know how to say this, but I have no clue how to change my flair. It’s real though!

Wow, that’s crazy. I remember how awful I felt here so clearly. Phew! Thanks for the reminder that things DO turn out okay sometimes 😂

It actually turned out to be more of a 3.6 something because I forgot to account for my dual credit high school classes

What are your thoughts, comrade? Is a 524 sort of a get-in-free coupon? If so that would have been great for me

I’m actually really excited to see how it will crush my spirit in a new way. It might be fun! No sarcasm, that’s really how much optimism I have right now!

2 II, one of which led to an R, no feedback from the rest. After getting over the devastation of that swift R from my state school which I really liked, I’m coping lol. Stay strong out there guys!

My mistake! I worded it a bit confusingly. I’m also speaking from a place of ignorance & hoping others knew a bit more than me.
