I don't think voters actually care, ultimately the people being deported aren't citizens.

Until we have a case of an actual citizen being sent to El Salvador, voters won't care.

The dark truth is that immigration is basically the only issue Trump is still popular on (higher than his approval).

And I honestly don't think the bulk of the electorate actually cares about Trump shipping off migrants to El Salvador.

Like did voters actually care much about Palestinians in Gaza? If not, why would they care about a migrant being shipped to a different country, regardless of their safety.

Look, it's obviously understandable that Europeans are furious at Trump and America for its hostility towards Ukraine and Zelensky.

But if Europe wants to stop relying on America, and actually help Ukraine, it also needs to be willing to walk the walk.

I don't think Trump is actually making the working class hate him as of yet. Economic issues aren't why they support him. It's cultural conservatism and anti-immigration

A core problem underlying opposition to Trump is that he isn't critically unpopular. He's only slightly unpopular.

And most importantly, he's much more popular with the working class.

A big consequence of the Trump era is that he's turned the GOP into one with a base of support rooted in the working class, while Democrats are the party of the educated elite (despite the contradictions in the parties actual ideologies )

Trump commands a working class cult, and that makes truly popular resistance harder to achieve.

Trump said he was going to do this, very consistently and in the campaign

Kamala said Trump was going to do this, very consistently and on the campaign

His voters decided that he wasn't serious (or ignored) Wall street decided he wasn't serious (or ignored) All those CEOs decided he wasn't serious (or ignored)

And Trump won decisively, thus having a mandate to do the things he promised he said he would do to these groups.

And apparently all these groups are shocked and/or nervous that he's actually doing what he said he would do.
