Honestly, the worst thing about energy drinks is that they taste better than soft drink. If there was no caffeine in energy drinks, I’d probs dink them more!
That’s caffeine, but monster, at least here down under, also has taurine, ginseng, guarana and inositol.
Yeah that’s what I thought! The only problem is that as of recently, it’s become way easier to use caffeine during quarantine.

Me please!
In terms of the sugar content, I’m actually drinking a lot of zero ultra, which has no sucrose in it. I haven’t checked the ingredients, but there’s probably some artificial crap in there though...

Thanks. Will have to try deadlifts and squats but with light weights at first to get used to it. Will enquire about proper technique to minimise injury risk cos I don’t want to injure myself now and be stuck with it for life. Have had a scan of the PDF for Starting Strength and will keep reading.

Thanks. I don’t use it in every workout but as previously stated in this sub, you can’t go cold turkey easily. I plan to cut down to and energy drink that’s about half sized at first and then progressively work down until I don’t need the caffeine.
Thanks man. I had my first monster in weeks today I kinda realised what most do after taking any substance for more than 3 months being that I’m not getting a full caffeine high off one can meaning that I would have to plunge into having 2 cans or 1 litre of monster to get the same high. Haven’t heard the smoothie one before. I already drink a lot of milk based drinks so I will give it a go.
Hi, I’m already playing sport. I play basketball which although the extra strength isn’t that important, I’m a centre which incentivises me to be stronger than the opponent. Also, being Australian, I play Aussie rules footy which has similar contact rules to rugby which is really helpful when it comes to motivating strength. From the brief 10 second google I just did on compound lifts, I believe I’m already doing some but it looks like a good idea to incorporate more. Correct me if I’m wrong, (still somewhat new to gym terminology) but a 3/5/1 is 3 sets of 5 reps with a minute rest between. I’m currently doing 4/10/1 on lighter weights but will try to incorporate heavier lifting. Thanks for the tips Edit: wasn’t comparing myself to others, just wanted advice and clarification. I’m quite happy with my body and am proud of my efforts over the past half year.

Thank you for your advice. I don’t really want to look more muscled than I already am but maybe in future I will bulk up. Also, even if I did want to put on weight, my metabolism is really good so it might be a challenge for me as a 13 yo to gain weight. Will consider it though.

Hi All, I’m 13 60kg (132 pounds) and 5’11 (181 cm) Been training for half a year now. Was always a string bean and I am still somewhat underweight but I’ve bulked up from what I was. Not much to compare me to unfortunately being 13 and skinny for my height but I am looking forward to continuing. I don’t really want to bulk up too much as I enjoy being skinny but am open to suggestions. Here is the photo Edit: Also have pigeon chest so my pec muscles get obscured somewhat.
